Dark-ruby colored wheat doppelbock with a creamy fine head. Strong notes of ripe bananas, raisins and plums meet liquorice and roasty aromes. Full-bodied and warming, with a well-balanced and smooth finish. The ideal companion for hearty roast meat, venison and also fruity chocolate desserts, “Kaiserschmarrn” (pancakes), “Elisenlebkuchen” (christmas cookies) or blue cheese.

Oldest wheat doppelbock of Bavaria. Since 1907. 18.5°

Dark copper, slightly unclear. Aroma of orange peel and ripe bananas with some vanilla. Refreshing taste, and pleasing aftertaste (which is perhaps not equally refreshing).

Powerful aroma of bananas, some brown sugar and spices. Could inhale this all day long. Multi tiered flavor, banana on the front slight licorice and alcohol on the end. Very good stuff

Dark brown color. Banana, licorice and dark malt flavors in the nose. The taste is very heavy, effectively hiding the notable alcohol content. The taste is dominated by dark malt aromas, licorice and banana notes. I think the beer taste is a bit too heavy.

Poured from a pint bottle into a weizen glass on 12.29.13. A: Opaque dark brown. Very thick looking. Big, fluffy head. S: Banana, cloves. T: Roasty banana, with cloves, malt, and alcohol burn. M: Creamy. O: The alcohol is not hidden very well as it is with other weizenbocks. It almost overwhelms the flavors. It’s good, but there are better weizenbocks.

Cerveja marrom claro, com aromas predominantes de caramelo, cravo, banana passa. Sabor equivalente com presença aquecedora mas equilibrada do álcool, Retrogosto doce, persistente e alcoólico.

Bottle. Brown pour with a kaki head. Sweet caramel malty aromas. Sweet dark fruit and cola notes. Good body and mouthfeel. An off putting bitterness almost prune like. Anyways. Not worth the 3.99 rating.
