Dark-ruby colored wheat doppelbock with a creamy fine head. Strong notes of ripe bananas, raisins and plums meet liquorice and roasty aromes. Full-bodied and warming, with a well-balanced and smooth finish. The ideal companion for hearty roast meat, venison and also fruity chocolate desserts, “Kaiserschmarrn” (pancakes), “Elisenlebkuchen” (christmas cookies) or blue cheese.

Creamy light brown head. Murky rust appearance. Taste is very complex: initial banana, clove, then alcohol cuts in. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Aftertaste has spices, and doppelbock qualities. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Bottle BBE: 16/06/15. Chilled. Very murky, dirty brown body with a considerable, bubbly tan head. Aromas of wheat, over-ripe banana, plum, dough and citrus. White chocolate and macadamia nut cookies. Medium sweetness, a touch of sourness, and an underlying bitterness and dryness. Fullish body, thick, smooth texture, lively carbonation and a lasting finish. An outstanding beer.

Lets face it, it pours a murky swamp water brown with a big frothy head, and I am plenty okay with that. Aroma is of yeast, wheat, basement, plums, and grapes. Tastes of plums, grapes, wheat, and herbs. Average carbonation and smooth with a surprisingly light mouth feel for how strong it is. It also hides its booze very well. This was some great swamp water.

Bottle. Pours a dark mahogany color with a nice head that fades to spotty lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, banana, hint of chocolate and malt sweetness in the background. Taste of dark fruit, some malt sweetness with bit of chocolate. Subtle bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly full nody, smooth with robust feel that is enhanced as it warms. Very well balanced and no hint of the 8.2% ABV. Very enjoyable beer, nothing like a classic style to wrap up the day with.

Bottle from Julio’s. Poured into a snifter. A lovely deep purple brew with a froth tan head that totally disappears. Deep earthy aromas of plum, raisins, dark sugar. Flavor is very well balanced. Dark fruits, herbs with a pleasant sweetness. As good as anything you can get!

Bottle at the Merchants Inn Rugby, German theme night. Not seen this before and was by far the most adventurous beer on offer, poured ruby with strong head, hints of raisen and licorice, doesn’t taste strong abv. A very good beer. So good I had 2 bottles :-)

Elle est belle, d?un riche brun trouble, avec un petit col crémeux. Goût qui s?affirme par des élans fruitiers de type banane. En arrière-bouche, un intéressant mélange de sucré et d?amer. D?une consistance plutôt crémeuse. Superbe.

Bottle at home on quiet evening. Pours ruby brown with rich nose of dark fruits. Tastes of raisins, figs, slight citrus, brandy, and plums. Chewy mouthfeel. Round palate. Quite delicious fun knocking off classic brews.

In bottiglia. Colore marrone cappuccino, schiuma abbondante e persistente. Aroma di banana,, frutta secca, noci, tostato. Al palato corpo medio e gradazione ben nascosta. Aromi di frutta secca molto intensi, speziato e tostato meno evidenti. Finale lungo e appagante.

Very dark amber, almost black color with a very creamy, light beige head that eventually dissipates completely. Aroma with hints of toasty, nutty, caramely sweetness. Noticible alcohol taste with minimal alcohol effect. Sourncess balanced with a sweet finish.

This beer is magnificent. The head retention seems almost unnaturally good. The beer smells, looks and tastes amazing. The body is full. The taste is delicious, full, and decadent.
