Dark-ruby colored wheat doppelbock with a creamy fine head. Strong notes of ripe bananas, raisins and plums meet liquorice and roasty aromes. Full-bodied and warming, with a well-balanced and smooth finish. Pours deep hazy brown with a lively tan head. Aroma is dark and fruity and spicy. You just KNOW it’s going to be a good beer. Taste is just an amazing sweetness. No bitterness here at all. Just an amazing dark fruity sweetness with mild spice and coffee-like flavor towards the end. I could drink this forever. Please stay on my tongue. Palate is nice and creamy. Goes down so smoothly. I think this could be a good starting point for new craft beer drinkers as well as being a benchmark not just of this style, but for beers in general. The first time I had a sip of this beer, it blew my mind. Literally.

From a 500ml bottle on 27/3/2015 (bottle labelled Tap 6). Pours a cloudy reddy brown with a small to medium head. Has a powerful aroma of ripe banana, with some dark fruit also in the mix.In the mouth, it’s sweet and inviting, with banana, plums, and some caramel set off against some pronounced wheaty, spicy notes. There is just a hint of bitterness to counter the dessert like elements. The palate is silky and a touch creamy, with the carbonation average to lively. This is an absolutely delicious, complex yet subtle brew, and definitely the finest German beer I’ve downed to date.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Pure heaven, great smell of yeast, caramel, honey and malt Appearance- This is a dark murky brown brew with swirling sediment and a small off-white head. Taste- A masterpiece! I love this flavor, well balanced fruit and spice with malt and yeast. perfectly blended. Palate- This is a medium to heavy beer with moderate carbonation. Has a nice semi-dry finish.

C’est une grande bière. C’est par contre dommage que Schneider aille changé ces étiquettes, je préférais les anciennes. Cette bière se marie à merveille avec une bonne viande ou un boeuf bourguignon.

Have enjoyed ’young’ ordinary bottles and the paper-wrapped brewery-aged vintages 2009, 2008, 2006 & 2004 over the past year. All are quite enjoyable but the 06 & 04 are remarkable. 04 has nearly lost all carbonation (6 bottles so far) but retains all the dark fruity caramelly wheaty goodness, just more mature and sophisticated. Cellar temp into a snifter the 06 & 04 are perfection to sip and enjoy. Stick to the 06 or younger if your beer must have carbonation, but if not and you can get the 04 enjoy the even deeper character that develops.

Complexe à définir. Belle couleur rouge foncée, rubis comme j’ai pu lire ailleurs. Alcool présent au nez, bien caché par les nombreux arômes: banane, fruits secs... bel éaquilibre global. Très intéressante.

13.6.2014. Hazy brown, thick light brown head, dirty looking. Aroma of malts, slight banana and raisin. Taste of nicely balanced malts with still raisin, caramel sweetness, slight tastes of weizenbier banana and yeast. Quite heavy for a weizenbock as abv implies. Nice.

Bottle, 500mL Home. Trade with @Jaghana. Last one of the suitcase ! Merci encore Pascal, tu as changé ma vision, très naïve, des bières allemandes... A dark brown opaque beer witha big beige creamy head ; good retention. Roasty aroma, banana, prune, clove, licorice, alcohol. Medium sweet, light warming background suspended with light dry bitter refreshing waves. Medium body, silky texture, good carbonation, bittersweet finish. Overall, delicious weizenbock well balanced ; firework aroma when temperature gets higher.
