Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Wow. Just a great beer. The appearance is somewhat cloudy, which isn’t very appealing to me, but it’s nice and dark. The aroma is good. It’s got a fruity/choclatey smell. Very pleasing. After my first sip, I exclaimed ’Oh, that’s delicious!’ Extremely palatable. Perhaps the best beer I’ve ever had.

Very well done. Rich malty aroma. Lots of wheat and yeast in the flavor, with clove and banana and raisin, and a creamy body. The sweetness becomes a little too much as it goes on, but this is a good beer.

[500ml bottle at the Royal Standard of England, Beaconsfield] Gorgeous branded glass with this one. Chestnut black with a large beige head. Some carbonation - I would prefer a little less, but it’s in no way excessive. Tatses of raisins, prunes, figs, treacle, cloves, orange, plums and all things Christmassy (um... apart from turkey...). Like Christmas pudding in a glass - you could imagine using this as a sauce to go on your desert. Despite the sweet, rich flavours and the high ABV, this beer surprisingly does not leave a sticky mouthfeel - although I swear I could still taste . Very very good indeed as a winter dessert beer - although not something I’d particularly want on a summer afternoon! Very impressive stuff! c9

Raisins, prunes, and apple in the aroma. Small off-white fully diminishing head. Small floating particles. Dark clear amber color. Moderately sweet initial flavor. Medium bodied and a lightly astringent finish. Great beer.

Pours a very dark purple with a thick head. Smells of grapes and spices. Tastes of raisins, spices and a pleasnat bitterness at the finish. Really good, complex beer.

Pours a dark amber color. Fizzy off white head that quickly diminishes. Sweet spica Aroma. Excellent mouth feel on this beer. Very smooth. Fairly sweet through out wth a lightlly astringent finish. Lively carbonation.
