Hazy orange-yellow color, decent cloudy white head. Wheaty with some citrus in the nose. Medium-bodied. Flavor is dominated by citrusy bitterness with some banana fruityness. Organic character. Cascade with pine and citrus is evident here and makes this quite different than normal standard German hefes - this is more new wave. Myself I prefer more banana fruity than citric hefeweizens.

Idiosynkrasie (5146) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUL 2, 2015
500ml bottle. Hazy, deep golden to amber colour with average, fairly lasting and lacing, off-white head. Yeasty, wheaty aroma notes of banana, and clove, herbal hoppy overtones with a touch of orange. Taste is moderately sweet wheat malty, yeasty spicy and herbal hoppy, hints of banana, intense notes of clove. Already too rich in content to be called "refreshing". Good.

Fresh and floral beginning. Nice fresh clove, not too fruity with nice herbal hops on a moderate bitter basis. Round and fresh, herbal floral hops also in the clove-like, Weizen-smooth aftertaste. Nice.

Bottle from Humulus et Fermentum, Heisdorf. Pours a hazy golden yellow with typical weizen head and yeast clouds in the glass. Nose is yeasty, cloves, fruits, flour, lemon. Taste is surprisingly bitter and hoppy, followed by malty sweetness. Finish is again bitter, somewhat orangy. Mouthfeel is smooth and silky. Very interesting weizen, very atypical, but good.
