2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Held onto a bottle of this for quite some time (for reasons unknown) and decided it might be time to taste it. I became a little hesitant when I cracked it as it failed to pssshhhrt! Poured it into an Aventinus glass, it was relatively lifeless, raising only a thin white pad of foam, that managed to last the length. The body of beer a clean hazy gold with only the lightest amount of fine carbonation popping to the surface. Subtle spicy and grainy nose, sweet bubblegum and overly ripe bananas with a little note of tangy fruit. The aroma was quite pleasant but lacked the oomph of a good hefe, as did the flavour. Thin, watery body, light and spritzy in carbonation, it had an odd plastic feel mid-palate and a light lactic and gluggy feel in the back of the mouth, before finishing off with a short herbal and sweet swallow. Flavours were subtle with only a little of the normal bubblegum and clove-like phenols and fruity esters associated with a good example of the style. A little disappointed as I thought this may top the Weihenstephan and Spaten offerings, but it just lacked in all aspects. May be the higher alcohol content to blame for its lack of body and flavour. Still, a balanced and clean hefe-weizen that was easily quaffable.

Samea, oranssinkeltainen olut kohtalaisella valkoisella vaahdolla.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Geur van banaan en kruidnagel . Zachte subtiel zoete smaak, de kruidnagel komt nadrukkelijk terug in de smaak gecombineerd met banaan. Donkergele kleur, weinig koolzuur. Goed te drinken.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy, orange yellow colored, medium to strong creamy white head, nice lacing and long lasting. Aroma is of wheat, some banana bread, cloves, phenolic spicy yeast and herbal hoppy aroma. Taste is medium sweet wheat, some clove and banana bread, lots of phenolic spicy yeasty notes and moderate fresh herbal hoppiness, medium bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light creamy. Fresh hops, strong spiciness, refreshing stuff. Excellent when you run out of Tap 5!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Jun ’16. A 0.5 l bottle that poured a beautiful hazy orange body with a big head. Fine banana and bubblegum in aroma with some herbal notes. Lightly bitter herbal flavor, even vaguely soapy from the bitter hops, otherwise extremely pleasant strong Weizen taste. Orange, banana, cloves, lactic... Full bodied with quite a high carbonation. Long, bitterish finish, herbal, peppery, besides banana, yogurt, chalk. Very nice Hefeweizen, hops weren’t too intrusive at all, just spiced it up and rounded nicely! Not among the best I’ve had though.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled from Biernavigatie. Golden/orange colored, thick head. Aroma of wheat and hops, spicy. Hoppy flavor, sharp, wheat in the background, quite spicy. For me an overload of hops just doesn’t fit the style of Hefeweizen. Not my kind of beer.
