MontereyJimbo (79), Monterey, California, USA Mar 23, 2008 This weizen beer has a pretty good wallop, 6.2 % alcohol. It is spicier than most weizens with a complex group of esters, none dominating like the banana or citrus that characterize so many. It is a pretty good weizen but not the best of the Bavarians. I would definitely buy it again.
Earlier Rating: 3/2/2008 Total Score: 3.7
Unlike most German weizens this one has a hint of bitterness. It is full of the fruity esters characteristic of its type. The bottle was stamped "organic", so God knows what kind of bug defecated in it. Nevertheless it is a solid weizen, not the best but very good.
gnoff (2923), Göteborg, Sweden Nov 29, 2008 (Draught at The Rover, Göteborg) On November 28, 2008. Cloudy orange color, frizzy and dense cream colored head. Sweet, banana, spicy, acidic scent. Bitter, sweet, light metallic and phenolic, herbal taste. Moussy to medium mouthfeel. Herbal and banana aftertaste. Medium to low bitterness. Wrong time of year to drink it I guess, in a dark, chilly and rainy Göteborg in late November, but it’s good and I’d like to try it again on a nice summer day. DSG (997), Yuvalim, Israel Nov 27, 2008 Updated: Nov 29, 2008(10/11/08) Bottle drank in my hostel room in Chicago. A big gusher stains my notebook when I open the bottle. Cloudy golden-colored with a big, quickly-diminishing white head. Fruity wheaty aroma with some spiciness and light bready notes. Sweet wheaty flavor with some yeast, fruits and some light clove notes. Light tartness in the finish. Medium-bodied. Decent. FROTHINGSLOSH (1560), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 26, 2008 Sampled from a 16 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very hazy golden-amber color with a large orange-white head. The aroma was a lovely and strong mix of citrus, banana and clove. The flavor was yeasty with strong notes of clove and hints of bubblegum, banana and citrus. There was a spritzy tartness underneath and a long tart clove and bubblegum finish. michael-pollack (1592), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 27, 2008 500ml Bottle: Aroma of spices, cloves, coriander, wheat, yeast, nutmeg, and slight lemon.
