3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 bridge (659) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JAN 16, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2007 Poured clear (of course) golden orange, with a pillowy white head that tend to last. Slightly metallic aroma of creamy banana and some light cloves notes. There was also a little bit of alcohol and weak bugglegum. The flavour was a bit bland, with some shallow bitterness, but enough to have you searching for the next gulp. The palate was indeed metallic, and a little too thin, although the carbonation was at a pleasant level. This beer starts off well, by looking and smelling great, but fell away a bit when it hit the mouth. Anyway, it’s not too shabby.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 pivnizub (8000) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - DEC 9, 2005
Bottle: Very pale golden; huge off-white fluffy head, rather quickly diminishing; fruity, citrusy and grainy nose, traces of cloves and bavarian bananas; very light sweetish flavour, creamy mouthfeel; very light bodied, but not watery; faint fruity (citrus, bananas again) finish. Not bad, not really necessary.....................
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 moseefus (79) - Little Rock, Arkansas, USA - DEC 4, 2005
Poured a clear yellow/brown with a medium white head. The aroma, appearance and taste reminded me quite a bit of american pale lagers that I despise. I am typically a dark beer man, so that may influence me. I simply didn’t care for this beer, but my friend absoutley loved his.

Bottle. Creamy excellent white mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Nice malty aroma. OK flavour and palate.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 26, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Pale golden with a decent head. Rather light-bodied with some faint notes of wheat, but naturally not much fruitiness (that’s left back in the filter right now). Dry and slightly sulphurous. I’ll never be a huge fan of Kristalls. 210500
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 shendrix (478) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 24, 2005
For a kristal, this brew is quite good. Crisp and light on the tongue, bracing yet never intrusive. The fruit and cloves rescue it from being boring, while not demanding too much from the drinker. A good pub brew.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ThomasE (5176) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 1, 2005
Pale yellow body with a solid white head. Wheaty, light spicy aroma with a fruity sweetness. Wheaty flavor with a citric note and some banana sweetness.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2005
Clear golden colour. Medium, very frothy and dense head. Aroma is slightly yeasty and citric. Banana flavour is quite strong for a kristallweizen. Otherwise it´s citric with notes of cloves and hints of yeast. Medium body combined with a good mouthfeel. I really dig this one. Quite nice.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAY 12, 2005
(bottle) Clear golden body with a thick foamy white head. Slight banana and citrus notes in the aroma with a hint of clove. Rather bland taste, thin but crispy, but everything missing I´m expecting for a mouthful of Weizen. Ok, I´m not so in Kristallweizen, but this one is quite disappointing, at least compared to its bigger brothers/sisters from Schneider.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hefevice (72) - Brisbane beer desert, AUSTRALIA - APR 9, 2005
Bottle. This one surprised me. I was expecting it to be inferior in all ways to the hefe version. Significantly lighter than the hefe version, crystal clear light gold with plenty of efferescence as expected, and a big white head that I had trouble controlling on the pour. Aroma was true to style, very much like its hefe brother. I was expecting a somewhat muted taste, but was very surprised as it was full of flavour, cleaner but less complex than the "mit hefe". Felt a bit lighter in the mouth, but I guess that is to be expected. Very nice Krystal! Would be a good way to introduce the style to those unable to cope with cloudiness. I really need to try this one again alongside its hefe brother.
