PWheatley (5), , Quebec, Canada does not count Nov 6, 2009 500ml Bottle: Pours clean with a nice head of foam. Strong scent of caramel. Yeast taste but smooth and very tasty. I would buy this again. TheHulk (104), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Nov 1, 2009 Smells very fresh, malt and banana. Dark, very dark for a hefeweizen, not too much head. Tastes exactly as it smells, about medium malt darkness in the flavour and some banana and a slight cirtusy bit of flavour. Very, very smooth, a bit of residue the aftertaste but not at all unpleasant. Quite nice, I have to rate the Hacker Schoor just a bit nicer though. Yves (987), Beerse, Belgium Nov 1, 2009 Brown coloured beer with large white head and lots of carbonation. Hoppy sweet aroma. Full creamy palate. Finish is sweet yeasty ending dry fruity (bit like bannas). An excellent beer to drink with the cheese "Brie". MrBeerFanatic (344), jamestown, New York, USA Oct 25, 2009 Pours a dark cloudy amber with a slight off white fizzy head. Aromas of banana, nut meg, coriander, and some yeast. Many aromas carry to the flavor with a sort of banana upbringing, then some spice like coriander and slight nut meg, with a little yeasty undertone. Every swig leaves you ready for that next one with a slight sour/dry finish. Slightly sweet. Pretty good hefe. mcberko (118), British Columbia, Canada Oct 24, 2009 500mL bottle - pours an opaque dark golden with a thin off-white head. Aroma is bananas. Flavour is bananas, yeast and heavy citrus. Very good wheat beer. mike1977ok (633), Netherlands Oct 23, 2009 Cloudy, dark orange colour. Dense head. Quite a malty flavour for a Hefe. Finish is a bit sweet but remains crisp and refreshing.
dagimp (104), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 23, 2009 On tap at SPTR served in a pint glass. Pours with a couple fingers of head, I can’t remember about the lacing. Smell is of over ripe bananas. Taste is of over ripe bananas (that’s a good thing!), yeast and some heavy citrus. Mouthfeel is light but creamy, exactly as a good weisse should be. Overall an excellent weisse, as good as I’ve tried. Lots of complex and powerful flavors. If you’ve got a friend who only likes dark beers and scoffs at anything lighter than amber, give this to him. flemmingwillum (225), København S, Denmark Oct 23, 2009 Bottle at home: Appealing aroma with some amount of banana and maybe indistinct fruits, but all in all the aroma isn’t obvious enough. On the other hand, this hefe looks beautiful in the glass. It is both unclearer and darker than I expected, but the head isn’t lasting long enough. The flavor is another thing. The banana is obvious and still there is some other fruits that I can not define, but I can define that this beer is delicious! It is a very "heavy" beer for a hefeweizen, and should really be drank in the same way than a brown ale or something like that. Though I usually think of weissbiers as summerbeers, this could easily satisfy me on a winter evening. The palate is very thick and creamy for a weissenbier too, and all in all this beer is impressing weissenbrew. I the back of my head, and on the back of my tongue I am just missing something undefineable... something that makes the beer boring in spite of its advances, and forces me too not giving more points.
