3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ronaldtheriot (438) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Schneider Weisse Original has a very thick, light beige head and an initially clear, amber appearance, which clouds up once the bottom bit is swished and poured in. Then, little gray chucks float about. This beer is very bubbly, like Champagne. There is a small bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of clean water, grain husks, and some sweetness. Taste is of white wheat bread, sourness, sweetness, a touch of mild hop bitterness, yeast, and a ghost of coriander. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Schneider Weisse finishes dry and quite refreshing. Overall, this is a very good beer. RJT
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 HighlanderOne (770) - Bergen County, New Jersey, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Poured from bottle. Aroma of burnt French toast. Sketchy looking dirty mahogany with a bit of a head. I taste caramel, molasses, dry wheat, cinnamon. A bit flat and a vinegar aftertaste makes me think this is old. Would like to retry someday.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 luttonm (957) - Belgrade, SERBIA - MAY 19, 2012
.5l bottle as ’Tap 7’ from Kuca Piva in Zagreb. Bubbly bottle, emptied in to a wine glass that leaves a mahogany and oily wood. Appearance is darker for a hefe, everything pushed toward the caramelized (malts, fruit, smoke) side of things. Fruit and candy body, sweet bites. but finishes dark and caramelizes all of the other flavors.. Very nice, could drink this any time
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 visionthing (493) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 19, 2012
50cl bottle, Weissbräu at Pavilion. Pours dark golden with a large off-white head. Fruity aroma with wheat, light citrus, some fruits, hints of yeast and spices. Sweet, but refreshing with a nice light bitterness in the finish. Excellent beer in the heat. (2012-05-04)
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 shaynsawchuk (27) - Mississauga, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 15, 2012
500 mL bottle. Pours an orangey amber color, darkly clouded with a thick white head. Lots of lacing. Deep cereal and butterscotch notes, cloves, banana, apple and fresh dairy. Slightly sweet, a little bitter hops and a citrus finish, floral. Light bodied, and good fizz. A nice weisse.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Bronzan (63) - Windsor, California, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Pours a cloudy, dull brown. Picking up some cloves, maybe a bit of banana. Pretty smooth. Pretty standard for a Hefeweizen.
4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 VanDer1584 (23) - Bavaria, GERMANY - MAY 11, 2012
500 ml bottle. Poured into my preferred weizen glass. Approximately 5ºC. This is actually one of my favourites beers of them all. It’s a very special hefe-weizen, darker, of amber colour, more "spicy" than others, stronger... Apart from this, quite similar to a normal Hefe-Weizen, particularly cloudy and orange, clove and banana flavours. Long finish. Beautiful long-lasting white thick head. Perfect balance, sweet and lively carbonation. Overall an incredible beer. Prost!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PatIrish (130) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 8, 2012
From the bottle, pours a hazy golden hue with a nice soft creamy head. Aromas offer banana, vanilla, grass. Very bright on the palate with a nice sweetness. Great for the summer.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 yrstruly (47) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 7, 2012
hazy wheatfield-gold with a beige, foamy head. Aroma is primarily banana and clove, with some bready notes. The taste is bright and fairly sweet- more banana and some spices. Smooth, citrusy finish with a small amount of bitterness - totally appropriate. This is special.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Martin243 (237) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2012
500 ml bottle from Morrisons, served cold in a weizen. Familiar spicy bannana bread aroma. Murky brown body, much darker than I’ve seen in previous Hefeweizens I’ve had. HUGE frothy off white head, despite a gentle pour, which persists in a pinkie finger thickness down the glass.Flavour is more "grown up", if you like; more spicy apple than the usual banana/clove/bubblegum. Remember "Soor apple" sweets that dried your mouth up and made you sweat under the eyes? Medium bodied, lively carbonation, some dry sourness in the finish. I really enjoyed this beer.
