4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a classic German beer and I would dare say one of the top brews. I loved the flavors of yeats and hops....quite distinct!
Do this one!

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Looking for a classic Bavarian weisse? Go right past this one. Don’t let the inviting appearance fool you, cause this beer is all show and no substance. The flavors all seem to be wanting to do different things rather then coming together as a harmonious whole as they do with the Weihenstephaner or Franziskaner Weiss biers. It lacks the fine balance and smoothness that to me are standout characteristics of a quality Weiss bier. I also remember having a metal like after taste; hard water anyone.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
NorCal tasting Jan 07 - a fantastic example of a German Hefe. A nice fresh fruity aroma with some bubblegum and bananna characters. Appearance was really dark for a hefe (quite suprising). Flavors carried the same notes as the aroma. Refreshing, clean and tasty. This beer would be excellent with anything.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours nice and murky (being a Coopers Ale fan - and from Adelaide where our tap water can resemble this colour - I have no problem with the concept of a beer like this) Decent head and for a wheat beer very flavoursome. Much prefered over other wheat beers ie Hoegaarden, Schofferhoffer, Redback etc) . Could drink this all the time.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Tasting 12-01-2007 (Søren, Peter, Carsten). Large and fizzy white head that mostly lasted. Spare lazing. Body was murky with an amber-orange color. Aroma was herbs, citrus, leather, banana, clove, coriander and other spices. Body was light to medium with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet with some very light notes of acidic. Finish was short and sweet.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very dark brown with a half inch head that quickly settles to a solid cap and thick ring that leaves a nice webbing of lace. This has to be the darkest Hefe Weizen I’ve seen so far, it looks more like a Dunkel Weizen.
Smell; strong wheat and yeast aromas right away, with a little bit of bananas and hints of some citric fruits.
Taste; as with the smell the wheat and yeast tastes are on the forefront, and then the bananas, cloves and a little bit of a lemony zing show up. There’s also a really good sweet maltiness that’s balanced with a touch of a spicy hop bitterness that i’m really liking. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice lively carbonation. As for drinkability, I would have no problem having a few of these in one night.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a dark amber-brown color with a medium head. It has a smell of spices with malt, and tastes similarly. I personally don’t like it as much as the edel-weisse but it is a quality dunkelweizen

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Murky light-orange/dark yellow slightly murky body with about an inch of white head. Smells like citrus, banana, smoke, and spice. Tastes sweet, spicey, and fruity - with some banana and hints of citrus and smoke. Complex in flavor. O the lighter side of medium bodied. A nice complex Weiss-bier. Not my favorite, but an extremely decent beer, very drinkable.
