aromas of sweet fruits, apricot, a little banana, but not a heavy smell has a citric sharpness, also cloves and a light spicyness. lively and clean mouthfeel with a sharp finish, a really nice hefeweizen and a definite summer favourite.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2006 I have heard of this beer for some time, and being a wheat beer fan I have been looking forward to trying it. Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a chestnut color with a large pinkish head. The aroma was sour malt. The flavor is light sour malt with a hint of citrus and a light wheaty finish. It is an ok hefeweizen but nowhere near the best in the class.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours with a massive white head like a proper weizen, however the colour is a few shades darker than your average hefe. Big banana and clove on the nose with a bit of malt in the background. Sweetness is reasonably low for the style and phenolic clove tones are very noticable on the finish. Aftertaste does not stay around as long as my reference hefe (Weihenstephan). Mouth feel is soft and light, not overly carbonated. A solid hefe and very drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at San Diego Brewing Co. Cloudy, dark amber with a very nice, lasting head. A lot of fruity aroma that carries over into the flavor. Some spice in the aroma as well. A nice even bitter aftertaste.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This beer has an unfavorable spice and aftertaste. Lightly cloudy, not a true beer - taste no hops and very little malt

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Small off-white head, cloudy/murky body. Nice aroma, sweet and spicy. Medium body with a thin texture. Lively carbonation. The taste starts sweet and ends with a acidic/spicy flavor. Pretty refreshing, but not a favorite.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Definately on the darker coloured side, a nice medium chocolate brown. Slightly cloudy. Expressive nose, cloves, and some faint larger notes. Does remind of a Belgian strong ale. Much fainter and lighter in the palate, disappointing so. ’Feels’ nice in a Asahi Super Dry way, but where did the flavour go? Has to be a dodgy bottle.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUL 22, 2005 Rerate 23/7/05: Skinny over-carbonated weisse. Cloudy copper colour, poor head retention. Delicious aroma of banoffee pie - bananas, toffee and cream. Classic weisse. Thin, ridiculously fizzy palate. Like drinking Creamola Foam. Drab caramel flavour and little else going on.
