With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermented yeast, this beer has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly fruity with a typical top-fermented smell, an aroma of clove and nutmeg apple tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a sour impression.

Tolles Weizen.

Wheaty nose, good cream head, cloudy with a burnt orange colour and some fizz in the glass. Good wheaty and lemony flavour, refreshing but a little watery on the finish.

APPEARANCE - turbid and darker than most hefe?s. It?s really dark straw or light brown in color. Great head that?s fed by the continuously bubbling from the beer emanating from the glass to augment the beautiful foam on top. NOSE - light lager type of scent. Not bright like a lot of other hefewizens are. FLAVOR ? rich and robust. Slight bit of clove spice at the very end as the beer warms up and a mild hint of bittering hops. Much more body than I am familiar with for most hefe?s. NOTES - Glad to see a nice variety in hefe-weizen from Germany.

500ml bottle. Appearance: Deep copper to amber color, hazy, with a thick white foam head. Aroma: Bready malt undertone, dominated by spicy clove phenols and banana, pear esters. Taste: A bready, slightly toasted malt sweetness, some lemony citrus notes, then dominated by banana and pear esters. Finishes with a moderate spicy bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium body, some creaminess, and moderately high carbonation. There is a bit of slickness left on the tongue. Finish: A spicy, moderate bitterness on the swallow, with some bready, pear esters. Overall: World class dunkelweizen. Mixes the bready, toasty sky character with wonderful fruity yeast esters and spicy phenols. Proper body for the style, and a citrusy note adds complexity

Frisse neus. Redelijk typisch voor dit beer. Smaak erg vol/romig, fruit, mout, banaan (moutsuiker) en alweer fris fruit. Heerlijk. Goede tweede na de Aventinus (vergelijkbaar, maar op alle fronten net iets beter/meer uitgesproken)

Bottle. Slightly darker than your typical weizen. Otherwise the classic exampple. Light sourness, crisp, refreshing, high carbonation, light caramel, clove, banana. Nicely balanced and easily drinkable. Very good.
