COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermented yeast, this beer has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly fruity with a typical top-fermented smell, an aroma of clove and nutmeg apple tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a sour impression.

On tap in Munich brewpub half liter. This is dark golden brown color and opaque large off white head that sits on top of the beer nicely. Nose is soft fruit and banana, some grape maybe. Taste is very refreshing and clear with a sweet start and slightly dry finish. This is what every weissbier should aspire to be. Really great.

Hazy brown colour, dark for a weissbier. Nice creamy head with good lacing. Classic hefe aroma of banana and cloves sits atop the malt sweetness. Creamy thin body. Taste is relatively uninteresting. Mild sweetness and a tiny bittering with a touch of spice in between. Finish is smooth but not remarkable. This starts of great, but finishes somewhat mediocre. A good hefe, but not the best.

Pours a slightly cloudy copper with a huge white head of foam. Aroma is bread and yeast with some spice. Very creamy on the palate, the taste is wheat, bread, light spices and some fruit notes. Nice finish with only a suggestion of hops. Very refreshing. Try it with sardines on matzo crackers.

Test vom 21.11.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 14,15,13,13,9,13 - 13,20

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2013 On tap at Kopta. A very solid cloudy hefeweizen with a reddish gold color. Sweet and spicy a good example of the style. I just had this from a bottle and I think I preferred it like that. It is copper colored, decent head and your classic weizen fruity & spicy aroma which is matched by an easy drinking beer. Very nice.

The beer appears autumnal orange with a thick , lasting, light tan head. An odd color for a hefeweizen, but still a good appearance. Moving on...The aroma offers bananas, clove, malt, booze...slightly sweet. The flavor is smooth and balanced, with banana character gaining strength in the finish. Additional flavors aside from the norm include a pronounced malt flavor with some candy sweetness. Less bold than some of my favorite examples of the style. That said, this beer has some character and pizzaz. Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation. Overall, this is solid, but I would never choose it over Weihenstephaner. Bottle from my bro under the alias Tap 7 Unser Original (that’s the beer, not my bro). Can’t fault the looks - very nice cloudy amber with a thick, steady, creamy head. Has that spiced, orange, Bavarian smell. Sweet flavoured, perhaps lacking depth and watered down. I want to like it more than I do - it’s just very good.
