Looks great, attractive dark amber/copper brown with a tiny off-white head. Fruity aroma of wheat, banana, citrus. Flavour is just a little bit sour. Very nice Hefeweizen, one of the best I’ve had.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at Novare Res, pours cloudy reddish brown with a thicky foamy finger of head. Nose is musty banana bread, spices, cereal, dough, bready. Taste is somewhat creamy bready banana, cereal, spices, cloves, malt, fruit, peppery. Finish is malty cereal, fruity banana, cloves. Enjoyable beer.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours very dark for a hefeweizen. Smell of banana and nutty toast. Taste spicy with a very refreshing citrus input and big wheat yeasty flavours in the backbone. Very drinkable.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
500 ml bottle as “Schneider Weisse Tap 7 Unser Original” bought at Berliner Restaurant in Olympian City, Tai Kok Tsui.
Cloudy hazy straw brown colour with a thick layer of dark brown yeast sediments; Two finger head with crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with notable small carbonation; Slightly fragment aroma of light malt, with light banana, light vanilla, sugar, light bubblegum, caramel, light cloves and very light grass; Tart and near zero sweet taste of light malt, with light banana, faint cherry, light caramel, faint alcohol, yeast, light lemon and faint grass; Mid to light body, very thin and slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is close to watery and lack of taste despite the thickish looks. Moderate wheat tartness, banana estery taste is close to minimal. Yeast and phenolic are very light. Boring… Hoppiness is faint grass nose, very light lemon and faint grass taste. Background hop notes only, just very light wheaty tart finish; Fairly dry after taste, very easy and to mouth.
Comments: I had a lot of expectation with Schneider’s Orginal, and I am really let down by this - strawy muddy looks, very light aroma, watery mouth feel with no crispiness, and taste is close to minimal. Really taste like nothing. Below average and disappointing.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured into a Weizen glass
Appearance: A nice golden brown. A little more deep than most. Thick head that dissipates after a few minutes but lingers on the glass.
Smell: Aside from the normal banana/wheat, a hint of spice and fruit.
Taste: Pretty spot on. Definitely one of my favorites of its kind.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth and the taste lingers. (I don’t know if that should be in this section)
Overall: A very good beer. Definitely a recommendation in my book!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours thick amber with big bubbly white head. Awesome mildly sweet aroma of orange, coriander clove and spices with the hint of nutmeg and vanilla. Orangey, woody flavour, very well rounded with a delicious spice finish. Big bubbles break down into a silky thin layer. Surprisingly fantastic.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Darker than expected colour with a typical hefe head that stays for awhile. Not a big hefe smell but still present. The flavour appears much bigger at first but kind of fades away. A bit fruity with a touch of spice mixed in.This would be a perfect intro for someone who as not tried this style. Kind of a sweet finish that goes away rather fast. A lot of the little bubbles that you would expect from a hefe.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Dark orange golden pour with a medium white head that quickly disappears. Weak phenolic aroma with hay, caramel, grass and everything you could combine with a barnyard. Not very strong or pleasant. Taste is medium to heavy sour, and in the middle scales in both bitterness and sweetness.
