| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 bottle - pours orangey - amber color with a smallish off-white head. The aroma was a lot fainter than i expected and was mainly comprised of apple and spice with a bit of bubblegum, I could only detect the faintest trace of banana. The taste was very malty and spicy, almost had a cider feel to it, I really couldn’t detect any citrus and there was a faint alcoholic hint in the finish. I expected more from Herr Schneider on this one...... danielst (162), Vienna, Austria

In the aroma, this manages to combine qualities of a classic Hefeweizen and a Dunkel - the fruity, perfumey and clovey esters are tamed by a sweet, dark caramel maltiness. Subtle butterscotch and clean alcohol as well. Very yeasty flavour, christmas spices with a rich malt sweetness. Drinkability would benefit from a less creamy/sticky palate. ZTO (17), Alberta, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear, dark amber with a fizzy white head that quickly diminishes to surface cover. Aroma is of banana, molasses, clove and honey. Flavour is very similar but is a little more grainy, with the sweet fruitiness more subdued. Medium body with lots of prickly carbonation and a long dry, bitter finish. Very nice, and almost perfectly balanced; even though hefeweizens aren’t my favourite style this one is very enjoyable. darrennelson12 (38), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2009 500 ml bottle. Pours a surprisingly dark golden brown with a huge thick pillowy off white head. Aroma is very clove, sweet and bready, banana, yeast, spicy, pretty light and perfumey. Flavor is fairly basic. Some spice, clove etc but not really enough of it. Stays sweet, a bit gummy and banana candy but mostly sweet and sugary. Medium body and a sharp fizzy carbonation. Really basic and boring in the flavor, not awful just bland. AWS9 (234), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 12, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy yellowish-reddish brown, with a decent foamy head. Interesting look for a hefe... Citrusy aroma, with some ginger and spiciness. Nice banana, orange, and citrus hit in the taste. Mild chewiness, mild bready malt. This one’s got some character, something I really like to see in hefeweizens, nice one!
