Bottle. Extremely hazy, gold color with a really humongous head. Aroma was clove, fruity. Taste was really tasty, roasted grains with hints of spicy clove and fruity banana.

Poured from 500ml bottle. Very lightly hazy, bright amber with a 2-finger off-white head and very good lacing. Aroma of wheat, banana, cloves, citrus and light bread. Taste of cloves, wheat, banana, yeast, citrus, sweet apples, ginger and a touch of pine. Sweet , wheaty, spicy and nice. Medium/light body and medium/high carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Orange colored, hazy with some floaters, medium lasting white head. Aroma is strong bubblegum then strong orange citrus, spicy and sweet. Taste is moderate to moderate strong sweet wheat, caramel, banana bread and cloves mixed with a strong and wonderfully refreshing citrus(orange)/sweet fruit/noble hop character with medium bitterness, decent lasting bittersweet aftertaste. Medium bodied yet thick, a bit resiny, medium carbonation. Alcohol barely noticeable only when warm. Just wow! Saphir you say...

Strong yeasty, bready, slightly sour aroma from a murky medium yellow body with a foamy white head. Very bready flavor with the yeast somewhat more subdued. When cold, this wasn’t a good taste, but after warming it’s much better. Definitely hoppy for a German beer which shows the American influence, but the base is still all German bock. Finishes with classic German malt flavor and lasting but not powerful bitterness along with a bit of banana esters. This gets better and better as you drink it. Happy German Beer Day 2015 everyone!

Cerveja impressionante. Combina características de cor, corpo e espuma de uma cerveja de trigo, com aroma de uma cerveja marcada pelo lúpulo. Uma cerveja de trigo com amargor suave. Vale a degustação.

Honestly my ultimate beer. There is so much going on here. It’s the absolute marriage between what we love in IPAs and Hefeweissen- big hoppy citrus notes coupled with all the sweet bubble gum goodness of a hefeweissen. There aren’t too many places to get this in NYC, Der Schwarzer Kolner in Fort Greene, Whole Foods on 2nd Ave., and Brooklyn Beer and soda (sometimes) From the bottle- pours a beautiful hazy deep golden color. Big frothy white head that goes away at a slow rate. The aroma is sublime, with so much nuance. I detect citrus (almost pineapple), floral, fruity notes, with yeasty stuff coming out too. With the hefeweissen hybrid you also get some banana and bubblegum in there too. The taste is equally complex with an excellent balance between the sweetness from the hefeweissen wheat and the bitterness from the heavy hops in the IPA portion of this mind blowing hybrid.Mouthfeel is super smooth with an excellent balance of CO2, it’s a thick fizzy beer with a long amazing finish. It really stays of your palate. This beer can stand up to heavily spiced food, but is almost best enjoyed simply by itself.

Party in my mouth! Never tasted anything quite like it. Like all the goodness of an IPA and wheat beer mashed into one flavorful masterpiece.

Bottle from old house, sheffield. Cloudy amber with lots of white particles, fluffy white head. Aroma is fruity banana and clove, with something else I can’t place (drunk with a cold). Taste is sweet and slightly sour, finishes with a natural dry bitterness. Prickly carbonation and medium body. Very good.
