COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Matured for two years in French Pinot Noir Barrels.

Our brewmaster, Hans-Peter Drexler, and Jerome de Rebetez from Brasserie des Franches Montagnes in Switzerland matured some of the famous Aventinus Eisbock in red wine barrels for many months. Enjoy this rich combination of the complex Aventinus Eisbock aromes and the woody character from the wine barrel.

Aventinus Eisbock Barrique welcomes you with an intense raspberry, cherry and vanilla aroma. A very rich and harmonious taste of chocolate, vanilla and berries will explode in your mouth leaving a lasting and pleasant after-taste reminding you of good red wine. I recommend this beer with chocolate and red fruit dessert or a blue cheese. However, as it is so complex that it can easily be enjoyed on its own.

Only 688 bottles produced.

low carbonation, lots of bread, chocolate, caramel, moderately sour, but a bit all over the place. Lovely sour nose. What is weird is that it is very drinkable with the acidity. Almost like a beer. Really amazing in idocity, but not sure what to think. Extra points for originality. Beer got better as it warmed up.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at home Friday 15th May 2015 in company of Lynn and Barry. Wow this is really fruity, tart and tangy and very sour and wheaty! I hadn’t a clue what this beer was just picked up as not had it before so was surprised at the level of sourness, really fruity with berries in abundance, great stuff. Shared with Barry, but Lynn really liked this as well. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

A very sour and sparkling Bock. The taste of citrus and grapes are dominating and I almost thougt that I was drinking wine. Not my kind of beer but I understand people that like the taste.

Shared bottle at Bøker & Børst, Stavanger. Ruby brown, opaque body with a short lived, light brown head. Inviting oxidized apple compote, fruity malt, bretty prune nose. Refreshing complex sour fruity flavor. Oak and vanilla and plenty of vinuous barrel notes.Medium plus carbonated and medium bodied. Highly recommended.

Bottle - Pours rosy amber with a filmy off-white head. Nose has lots of oak and red wine, cherry, bready malt, and a bit of sharpness. Taste is milky cherry, oak, wine barrels, warm, mellow bready malt. Smooth body with gentle carbonation and a thick mouthfeel.

A slightly hazy brown color, with a small white head. It has a fruity wine aroma, acetic acid notes and the disposal is malty. It also has a slight banana-note. It tastes like caramel, vanilla, milk chocolate and raisins, furthermore it has a sour note.

Mid-tart taste of red berries, lemon, dried fruits, and oak.Vinous. Tart and sweet to the ending. Smooth on the swallow. Nice (Bamberg 11.10.2014).

One of Schneider’s barrel aging experiments, which has led to a very complex and fascinating beer, especially to German-style standards. Thin, cream coloured head, bronze robe. Fruity aroma, banana, strawberry, redcurrant, raspberry vinegar, sherry, balsamic vinegar, lemony acidity. Taste wonderfully complex, red berries, soft sweetish fruitiness balanced by an oud-bruin-like tartness, vinous, wheaty, woody background. Superficially speaking, this seems to hold the middle between a Weizenbock and an oud bruin and unites the best of both worlds.

Cloudy brown color. Small head. Vineous and slightly funky cherry aroma. Quite intensely sour taste. Combined with the cherry and a dry tobacco finish you could be fooled into thinking you?re drinking a kriek, but there is a definite maltiness in there somewhere that gives it away. Low carbonation, medium body. Not what I expected at all and therefore pretty difficult to rate, is it really supposed to be quite this sour? But an interesting beverage none the less.
