cloudy mahogany with a fizzy dusty-tan head, medium-fine, uniform, 5mm, moderate-fast rate of decay. A tart, lactic-acetic aroma hits me right away from afar - sour cherries. Close up, I get sour grape, light spiced raisin, and tingly vinegar. Body is highly oily, moderately starchy, very smooth and viscous, moderate weight, light, medium-fine carbonation with little-to-no burn. Flavor is tart, much less acetic, lightly spicy, cherry, grape, unripe mango, a bit of brown sugar under it all, and a hint of molasses. Not getting a lot of the typical weizenbock flavors, or even dark flavors at all. I think all of the caramel malt were consumed by the souring organisms of those Chardonnay barrels. Overall: does not taste at all like a bock of any sort (-1 overall for no heads up on the tartness.) As a Flanders brown, pleasant, smooth, with less bite - first rate! Aside: for those of you describing this as Brett, I would think twice. This is much cleaner than most Brett I’ve encountered, so perhaps we are dealing with bacteria.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid, ruddy, muddt dark chestnut with 1-finger of creamy off-white head. Nose is earthy and funky malt, tart acidic fruit. Tastes tart, acidic, fruity, malty, with a complex and dense mouthfeel. Very good.

2014 edition, bottle 750mL. Home with dad and mom. A clear dark brown beer with a small white head ; average retention. Few bubbles. Aroma of vinegar, wood, fermented apple and dark fruits, barnyard, roast. Pleasant balance between sourness and sweetness. Medium body, smooth texture, soft carbonation, lasting fruity woody sour finish. Overall, I didn’t expect this sour taste "lambic-style" at all ?! Nevertheless, delicious, smooth, just enough to be cradled...

Taster at Jungle Jim’s Barrel-Aged Beer Bash 2015. From a bottle. Totally hazy brown color. Thin ring of off-white head. Loose bits of lace. Banana, touch of brett (citrus, mild spiciness, oakiness). Mild clove. Tart taste, moderate sweet, moderate bitter. Medium plus body, smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light slick finish. Tasty, interesting brett oaky weizenbock. Not sure if the brett is intentional (probably not) but it’s tasty interesting stuff overall.
