750ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a big foamy white head that recedes quickly to a small soapy collar. Aroma has lots of wheat character with bubble gum and banana sweetness alongside some light spices. But the added complexity comes from the floral hops, lemongrass comes to mind. The taste has the initial citrus and floral hops that give way to the more familiar Schneider wheat character - sweet bananas, fruity esters, hints of clove. The finish is more dry and bitter than most weizenbocks. The mouthfeel is lively and effervescent, light to medium bodied. This is an interesting take on the style with the hops adding something to the mix. I’m not sure I’d put it up there with the best in the style as it doesn’t come together completely for me.

Shared bottle at local tasting. ABV 7.3%. Cloudy orange colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma, notes of cloves and crushed gooseberries. Spicy flavour, very strong notes of cloves, also notes of Nelson Sauvin hops, but not dominant. Unusual, interesting, and pleasant to drink.

Draught @ Abraxas. Light amber and cloudy. Thin head. The aroma has lots of fresh pale malt. Fairly sweet and a little cloying/doughy. So overall the thickness is maybe a bit much and the sauvin a bit mellow but I like it.
