3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Schouskjelleren shared with Daje
Pours pale hazy with a massive head. Smells of banana, yeast esters, wheat and some hints of citrus. Wheat flavor, fruity, nice sweetness. Nice hop bitter finish. Still i don’t feel that the nelson shines as much as it could have. A very nice beer, big bottle though.

75cl. It pours an unclear, golden to light amber body and a big, dense, lasting off-white head. Nice lacings. The aroma has an underlying banana, cloves and wheat scent, with citrusy, fruity hoppyness dominating. Flavorwise it’s much the same. The citrusy hops dominates, but there’s room left for the weissbier flavors we all know. Sort of like a blend between a heavy weissbier and a light IPA. Really pleasant and tasteful, moreish as hell, although I guess it might feel a bit cloying after some glasses. Full bodied, nicely carbonated and smooth. Definitely a beer I could drink often. 120210

75 cL bottle from Beers of Europe, poured bit by bit into a Westmalle glass at home. Yellowy orange with an initial nice head that fades fast. Hopped wheat aroma, pretty nice. A nice wheaty taste, with flowery hops and a hint of peanut and salinity. This tastes pretty agreeable but its not as good as I’d hoped it would be.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at Birreria Paradiso, Old Towne. Hazy dulled orange-tan. Big creamy off-white head. Fruity, tangy hop presence. Doughy yeast pungency. Very subtle, easy drinking. Very balanced, World Class stuff. Subtle and kicks it up a notch with the NZ hops.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
A beautiful 0.75L bottle marked 02.08.2013. So I’m hitting this early. Supremely spicy and wheaten nose, sweet with vanilla and lemon. Hazy orange with a rocky white head. Taste is actually relatively dry, even a little scratchy, with good wheat character than adds bulk. Medium body very smooth and creamy. A very nice, subtle bitterness that matches well, with vanilla in retreat and mature hops on the rise, by volume. Feels young and still-vibrant, but much like their flagship HW, very little in the way of bock character other than the lightly sour grape notes. Spicy yeast and hops, and a vinous character with volume and movement toward room-temprature (I guess those are the Sauvin hops - but they shouldn’t be hiding!). Well-hidden alcohol. The overall impression is of incredible balance and drinkability - a gem!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Rustico - Alexandria. Served in a stange.
Pours a murky peach color with a good white head and a bit of lacing. The nose carries some tropical hop notes plus light clove and German yeast. Flavor falls back a bit more toward a standard hefe, though the hops are certainly still noticeable. Light body with a bit of chewiness. Pretty good and an interesting take on the weizen.

draft @ redlight redlight Spicy nutmeg and earthy cinnamon on the nose with hints of sweet citrus. Pours slightly hazy golden blonde with a dense white head. Earthy yeast flavors upfront with nutmeg and cinnamon, with bitter tropical fruit notes, followed by banana with white grapes in the finish. Very nice, complex yet refreshing.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at home. Pours a cloudy honey / amber with a highly carbonated fluffy white head. Banana, clove, crisp green apple, vanilla and faint pineapple notes caress the nose and draw you in. Soft, creamy and fruity on the palate. A surge of creamy vanilla washes over the tongue then drops away to be replaced by a whisper of tropical fruit and banana before the vanilla sneaks back in like a thief from the back of the throat. There is a pear drop aftertaste which coats the whole mouth and leaves a long lasting reminder of a wonderful beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
A - A nice golden cloudy pour w/a billowy head. Little retention w/some minor lacing.
S - big banana, citrus, bread, you get a hint that it has some alcohol behind it.
T - banana, big spicey cloves - exactly what you would expect from a great beer of this style. The hops seem to be in the background, but the citrus is a nice compliment. The beer is a tad sweet, but the big carbonation really kicks it back.
M - CREAMY! Nice lush mouthfeel w/a creamy spread.
This beer was fantastic - I wish I could taste it fresh, as the hop of choice seemed to be on the backseat.
