4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a bottle. Appearance is hazy copper with a thick white head of foam that remains atop the beer all the way to the bottom of the glass. Aroma is spicy, floral, earthy, and sweet. I get bananas and citrus. Taste is spicy, while still allowing the citrus profile show up. This beer is quite a treat, should you be able to find it.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
(75 cl bottle from Wein Kultur Bier Shop, Moabit) Pours a clear, dark copper with frothy, white head. Good retention and lace. Aroma is banana, dusty yeast, spice and some bubble gum but not much of the fruity Nelson aroma left sadly. Velvety on the palate, richly carbonated, medium body with an astringent finish. Taste mildly lemony tart with faint metallic and bready notes. Girlfriend says: "I’m not a fan of beers where the alcohol is so present."

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
In short: A german-hefe style beer augmented with juicy tropical fruits hopping. Very good
How: Tap at Wildeman, Amsterdam sold simply as Schneider Mein Nelson Sauvin)
The look: Cloudy peach color body topped by a medium off-white head with good retention
In long: Nose is a mix of tropical fruit hops and german hefe banana esters. I would not have guessed this was a weizen bock. Taste is more of the same. Nice banana cake make more refreshing with a hefty amount of tropical fruits hops. That’s all I noted on this one and I had it twice, I drank my first one in 5 minutes so I ordered a second one for the rating which I proceeded to drink in 5 minutes again leaving very few notes in my notepad. Well, I guess my two glasses speak quality about the beer even if not very descriptive. However I don’t think I would buy a bottle of this because a beer like this can only be as good as it is fresh. There was an extensive list of draught beer at Wildeman on that day and ordering this new unknown beer fresh on tap was a very good decision. And if I had a pint of beer for every good decision I made in my life I’d be so thirsty right now.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 9, 2012 750 ml bottle. Hazy orange body with a nice, foamy and lasting off-white head. Aroma is classic wheat with banana fruitiness mixed with refreshing grapes, spices (cloves) and mild cat piss (in a positive meaning). Flavor has a wonderful mix of really nice wheat bock and refreshing Nelson hop. It’s balanced all the way, sweetness, banana, spices, grapefruit, grapes, soft bitterness and super quaffable. Wow! This is good. A far better experience than Hopfen-Weisse in my opinion.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2012 Tap at at abraxas. Hazy dark golden, stable cap. Aroma is subtle and floral, wildflower, daisy, gladiolus. Seems thin perhaps. Carbonation relatively low. Very mellow, and clean except I did detect some late bubblegum. Resinous. Nice and refined but the aromas and flavors are not nearly as bright as the Safir version.
