3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
Crown-capped champagne bottle – decants a lightly clouded light gold colored weizen in my glass. Decent puffy 2 finger cap lasts and laces. Light effervescence. Aroma is fairly modest but there is a defined wheat malt-fruit-clove aroma with an underlying vinous quality. Fairly sort moth with a light fluid character. Flavor is also demure but this is part of the intended character of this unique weizen – front side has the appearance of the standard Hefeweiss flavors, the clove phenols, banana-fruity esters and a light citrus presence – mid palate is where this beer becomes unique – instead of the standard hop bittering you get a mild tartness like raw white grape skin, not over powering but definitely present and this makes the finish not so dry but much like a white wine spritzer – fluid, tart but not puckering dry like most wiezens. Absolutely no hint of the alcohol in it. If this was the profile/character the brewer was attempting to produce, they succeeded in spades. Many will say this is a weak weizen bock but this ignores is unique mildness and vinous qualities.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Old note. The aroma has caramel, banana, grainy tones, tropical fruit. Bit hazy, golden coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is light bitter and has some grain, caramel, banana and tropical fruit. Nice one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 750 ml from Vrutak, Zagreb. Unclear dark golden with white head. Yeast and banana in aroma. Sweet, malty, dusty, light to medium fruity, yeast. Somehow expected more hops and fresh fruitness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy gold-to-light-amber, 5mm of butter-colored head, medium-coarse, moderate-fast rate of decay. Aroma is grass/hay with a big dollop of honey and cereal (oatmeal granola). Body is watery with some oily-syrupy, medium weight, moderate-light intensity, medium fine carbonation with moderate, slow burn. Flavor is light caramelized malt, touch of roasted marshmallow, a hint of cloves and cinnamon. Bitterness is light and clean, aftertaste is more melanoiden than hops. Overall, an excellent lager. I really like the bottle. Not sure how they managed to make this so expensive; I don’t see any evidence of barrel aging, etc... Still, a fine, balanced, malty, weizenbock with restrained yeast.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared bottle at RBWG-2015.
Sweet and way less hoppy than expected ... but then I thought at first that this was a pale ale. Very malty especially for a beer featuring NZ Hops.
Feel: full syrupy body with light but adequate carbonation.
O: excellent for style.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
750ml bottle, tasted during RBWG. Clear golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Loose bits of lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Tasting mostly oxidized right now. Mild fruity hop. Moderate sweet taste, some astringecy. Past its prime.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Jun ’14. A 0.75 l bottle from Vrutak store, Zagreb. It poured hazy dark golden to brown body with big head. Fine wheat aroma, besides yeast and banana there was some peach and a touch of caramel. Flavor was sweet and yeasty, followed only a little bit by some caramel. Medium bodied with longer finish, more of the same, but a bit finer. Alcohol was not evident but neither were the hops. Priced like quite a better wine it was really not bad as this review might sound, but way too simple for such a brew, no subtlety, plain sugar and yeast, I doubt it was much better fresh. Complex, as they market it. Yeah, right.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Slightly hazy gold. Aroma of sour wet wheat, juicy fruit. Taste is slightly tart, fruity sweetness, with a hearty bitterness. Gently effervescent that finishes with a sticky, long dry finish.
