Swing-top. Very inviting nutty aroma of caramel, yeast, toffee, and bread/pretzel malt. Orange-amber pour, head is beige. Medium bitterness and light sweetness. Breadish through and through, natural and earthy (composty?), ends very hoppily and with a touch of toast. Body’s a touch light, but the prickly spiciness / pepper helps. After my palate fully adjusts, it finds light fruitiness. Good character.

Orange brown color, creamy head. Swing top bottyle from MoritzF, with my thanks. Milky, caramelly buttery barnyard aroma. Same flavor with a nutty bitter aftertaste. Typical rural beer with a mouthfeel you’d expect form a farmhouse brewery.

JorisPPattyn (9505) - Ursel, BELGIUM - APR 29, 2006
Orange-foxy beer; small pinkish-amberish head. Bit bready, pale malt & light-coloured malts; generally sweetish nose. Soft-sweet, nutty or chestnut flavours. Bit egg-bread like. Ends drier, bready, even dry leaves flavours. Light to medium bodied, all the same slight gristslickness. Not very distinctive, I’m afraid.

pivnizub (10179) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - APR 10, 2006
Bügelverschlußflasche: Reddish-amber coloured, medium-sized almost creamy head, stable, lively carbonation; stronger sweet (toasted) malty nose with a touch of molasses; first a little bit sweet, but mainly dry and a bit bitter flavour; dryer, aromatic bitter finish accompanied by some maltiness. Good, full flavoured, complex Dunkel.............

(swing top bottle) Orange to amber colour with a fluffy, slightly off-white head with nice lace. A bit dusty and sweet malty aroma with toffee, vanilla. Bittersweet flavour, medium to light body, smooth carbonation and mouthfeel. Slightly toasted and sweet malty buttery taste with toffee and an elegant bitter and well-hopped finish.

Medium head, lightish brown colour. Cool, malty aroma, with faint fruitiness. Full, harmonic, well-rounded malt taste with faint hints of roastiness. Aftertaste is mostly hops and faint roastiness, somewhat dry. A good session beer, but not too interesting.

Uhhh - I was disappointed here. Light brown color, mall rocky head. Sweet intense toffee nose. Terrible butter scotch taste - chemical. Yuck.

Smells like buttered popcorn, deep amber color, tall foamy head. Tastes like buttered popcorn too. Some bourbon tastes, not so bitter. Didn’t really like this one.

Bottle, from Landbierparadies shop, Nürnberg. Deep copper, thin off white head and gentle fine condition. Low bready malt and caramel aromas, fruity caramel and gentle peppery hops in the mouth and a pleasant hop bitter finish with some caramel lingering.

Dark malty aroma. Golden brown, big rocky golden head. Honeyish malt with some gunpowder edges from the coloring malt. Aromahop wrap everything of. A beer with a distinctive identity - pleasantly different from the standarddunkel I meet so often here.
