COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

Bouteille 500ml. On tap at V&B. Cloudy yellow pour with a foamy white head. Crisp, light, and refreshing with banana and clove overtones. A very clean and drinkable weizen.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2013 Oct 2012 - bottle. Room temp. Enduring head. Smells just like a wheat beer should. Taste - nice sweetness, no bitterness as expected, slight banana flavour which endures into the aftertaste (my favourite aspect of wheat beers), really drinkable. Very enjoyable, would certainly have again. Right up there with the weihenstephan hefe. ************************** April 2013 - room temp bottle. Fluffy head like a cloud, couple of inches and enduring. Cloudy orange colour. Beautiful. Smells of wheat and banana. Initial flavour doesn’t have a lot of depth or intensity to it - it’s nice but very subdued in comparison to the last bottle. Slight banana aftertaste. If I were to rate it for the first time today I would give it 3.9, but I still have memories of the last bottle.

330 ml bottle shared by a friend. Thanks, Steve and Michele! Pours a hazy pale orange color with a frothy cream-white head that foams up and craters. Fun. Lighter aroma; wheat, bread, mellow banana and clove, a little citrus. Flavor brought the clove-banana-wheat notes harder, with some lemon. Light-bodied, with a juicy, wheaty mouthfeel and modest carbonation. A little thin but nice and refreshing.

500 ml bottle, poured into a weiEn glass. ABV 5% Light orange colour, hazy body with nice activity in it. Two fingers of white, soapy head, with very good retention. Nice lacing left around the glass. Aroma of wheat mostly, with banana following. Good. Taste is also mostly of wheat upfront, sweet at first with a slighty metallic aftertaste. Medium on the body, quite carbonated. All in all, a pretty average hefeweizen.
