COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

500ml bottle from lebensmittel.de. Pours yellowish orange with a thick, white, creamy head. Aroma of esters, wheat and fruits. Rather malty flavour with yeast and even a hint of bitterness. Demi-sec finish.

16.02.2013. 0,5l Bottle. Yellow colour with white head. Wheaty aroma with notes of lemon and banana. A little dry mouthfeel like the sense of green bananas. Smoothe wheaty medium body with both bitter notes and wheaty sweetness. Notes of yeast as well. Aftertaste leaves a dry mouthfeel with stinging carbonation. Dry with more green bananas. This is a very good hefeweizen.

When I poured it my expectations just went up since it has a vivid carbonation, unfiltered yellow and small but persisting head. But the aroma and flavour are just not very consistent with this.

Very respectable Hefeweizen. Except for the aroma, which is poor, with a certain whiff of old food, the appearance is solid, with the necessary cloudiness and respectable white head, flavours of fruits over the malts, banana always there, everything beautifully packed into a roundness that only the Germans can achieve. Not only Bavaria knows how to make these beauties.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2013 Serving: from tap--at The Beer Junction. Aroma: strong banana and very light bubble gum. Appearance: large, creamy, off white, initial head with good lacing and mostly diminishing longevity. Hazy, medium-yellow body. Taste: slightly sweet, banana/bubble gum initial flavor and lightly sour, citrusy and somewhat bitter finish with short duration. Palate: light-to-medium body, slightly watery texture and lively carbonation. Overall: excellent! My favorite hefeweizen
