Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and pour slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

(Bottle) Cloudy amber with good dense white head. Nice aroma, mainly banana ester with citrus and spicy hints. Medium body with smooth carbonation. Taste is rather pleasant although perhaps thin / watery in the finish. Starting with some tangy fruitiness of under-ripe banana and lemon, the taste develops some nice caramel malt sweetness and some hints of spice, before rather fading away. Pleasant, easy drinking.

On-tap. Hazy yellow-golden with a big white head. Aroma of banana, bubblegum and yeast. Sweet with typical hefe weizen notes, medium-bodied with decent carbonation. Drinkable, goes pretty well with German food.

Bottle. Cloudy darker yellow pour, large off-white head. Pretty Classic hefe aromas, a little on the yeasty and malty side perhaps. A little malty for the style, and some nice spice notes. Definitely one of the better hefeweizens I've had.

A dark yellow to gold pour with that familiar wheat beer haze. The nose is much more faint than others with a sweet banana and straw note. This is a good beer, it just doesn’t have a flavor that jumps at you and lingers like some other heffs. There are hints of banana, clove, lemon, and hay. I’d still have another.

Bottle on several occasions in Frankfurt. It pours cloudy pale orange with a thick white. The nose is wheat, banana, clove, hay and orange peel. The taste is smooth, wheat, earthy, faint banana, creaminess, hay, light bitterness and some pepper with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Well rounded and pretty drinkable. Not bad.
