Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and pour slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

Bought the bottle in Dresden Germany and brought it home to the USA. Tasted it at our annual tasting of 30 beers. It was very good; only week spot was the appearance.

This looks ok, typically hazy with a good rocky head. Lacks on aroma and flavour though. Thin and watery, lacking complexity, poor finish too. Had this a few years ago, liked it then, didn’t care too much for it now. Aldi, 99p.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2015 7/15/2008 50cl Bottle @ home. Hazy yellow/orange colour, smell of banana, yeast, wheat. Taste is crisp, some sweet banana, soft wheat. Even has a slightly bitter finish, nice! 637314 Re-rate 5/2015: Hazy orange colour, dense creamy off-white head. Aroma of wheat, some light-grassy note, citrus, green banana. Flavour is medium sweet, wheat, light tart, yeast, hint of clove, grass, decent bitter finish, lemon. Light to medium bodied. I think it’s really good. 758315

Csapolva szoktam inni a kedvenc kiskocsmámban és nagyon kedvelem!Igazán fűszeres és gyümölcsös.Utóízében van egy kis kesernyésség amitől újra szomjas lesz az ember.

Pours a hazy golden orange. Aromas of bread/clove/ and some fruit. Had a taste of yeasty bread with some spice.

Hazy yellow; white, foamy head becomes a medium ring; light lacing. Aroma and flavor banana, cloves, yeast. Flavor just barely tangy with very light bitterness in the finish and somehow I think a slight twinge from the alcohol. Medium-light body, which seems appropriate. I don’t love this style but I would drink this regularly.

I always think of this beer as the perfect introduction for someone who is about to look past he mass produced rubish on the market. Pours a beautiful orage colour with a very citric aroma. Tangy finish which tickles the taste buds. This beer comes with a guarantee to convert your friends to look at Beer outside of the local "run of the mill" brew they usually drink.

Lovely full head. Easily drunk. I even didn’t mind it as it heated up to room temperature. The flavours really came out. Big on spice and citrus fruit.£1.29/5OOML at Aldi.

500ml brown bottle. Full mouthfeel, medium body, big banana character with some clove notes. Very filling. OKAY.
