Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and pour slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

A dark yellow to gold pour with that familiar wheat beer haze. The nose is much more faint than others with a sweet banana and straw note. This is a good beer, it just doesn’t have a flavor that jumps at you and lingers like some other heffs. There are hints of banana, clove, lemon, and hay. I’d still have another.

Bottle on several occasions in Frankfurt. It pours cloudy pale orange with a thick white. The nose is wheat, banana, clove, hay and orange peel. The taste is smooth, wheat, earthy, faint banana, creaminess, hay, light bitterness and some pepper with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Well rounded and pretty drinkable. Not bad.

On tap. Weak aroma with some wheat malt. Nice orange colour with soft beige head. Wheat malt in flavour with a touch of banana. Very mild.

500ml bottle from Costcutters, Manor House. Pours a typically hazy hefe orange, but sadly does not boast the same level of sweet yeasty flavours as its counterparts. Refreshing, with a spicy dry finish, but just can’t help feeling disappointed.

Tampa, Fl. - Total Wine & More - 11. 2 oz bottle. Hazy, light orange pour, soft, slight white head, Aroma has some bubble gum and artificial banana accents. Flavor is a brief mention of cloves, some light banana artificial flavor, a nice dollop of yeast. Mouthfeeel has a decent thick spritz to it. Good everyday hefe.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes goldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig, bananig. Geschmack hefig, bananig fruchtig, minimal würzig.

Tall can. Hazy light gold, white head. Nose is sweet sugar, some banana notes, lemon. Flavour has a lot more lemon. Tartness lingers on the finish. I don’t like these sour hefes.

I reckon this beer is better than what the overall score suggest. Had it plenty of times before but had a few tonight on a warm Australian evening, it went down a treat. A lovely well balanced hefeweizen with hints of banana. Very nice and a great session beer. Will drink again.
