Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and pour slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

This is by far my favorite beer. Living in Germany while in the Air Force helped broaden my horizons with beer and I’ve sampled a fair amount from various countries, yet this is and will always be my favorite. Terrific flavor, aroma and enjoyment. Truly one of the greats.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2013 Serving: from tap--at The Beer Junction. Aroma: strong banana and very light bubble gum. Appearance: large, creamy, off white, initial head with good lacing and mostly diminishing longevity. Hazy, medium-yellow body. Taste: slightly sweet, banana/bubble gum initial flavor and lightly sour, citrusy and somewhat bitter finish with short duration. Palate: light-to-medium body, slightly watery texture and lively carbonation. Overall: excellent! My favorite hefeweizen

I like hefe’s and this was my mainstay in my recent trip to Germany. I had a lot of good hefe’s there, but this was definitely the one that I drank the most and had the most positive impression of. The dunkel variety is good also.

...a great hefe, you must try this is you have yet to. Great malty feel, with fruityness as well as nice spice notes. Good orange color with nice creamy head, you must try this, one of my favs.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2012 Hazy orange golden colour with a big white head. Fresh wheat aroma with some citrus and banana. Rich wheat flavour, a bit fresher than normal with some citrus notes, also a lot of banan and some bitter finish.

One of my favorite hefes. First had it in Germany, then subsequently found bottles in Dublin. Haven’t seen it in the States yet. Pours a hazy orange-gold with a nice, fluffy head. Nose of wheat, yeast, cloves, banana and orange. Flavor is heavy on the wheat with some yeast and citrus notes. Medium body. Smooth and crisp on the finish with a delightful aftertaste. Great stuff.
