Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and pour slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

This beer has a pale body - hue apperance and a coarse white scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the a bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is fruity with a light citrus afther tast.

Bottle from Saarlander and shared with Duane. Thanks Aaron. Hazy yellow pour with a good-sized white head. Banana, bubblegum, yeast and lots of clovey spiciness in the nose. Flavor is much the same. Spicier and maltier than an average hefe, this one stands out. Very well done.

A brew that I drink often when back in Germany, and wanting a nice hefe, always fresh in the Saarland, as Frankfurt is near enough. More spice than many Hefeweizen, some yeastiness to it, a great brew, that I enjoy often, the Dunkel is good too!

500Ml Bottle - Poured into tradition Schofferhofer glass, nice big fluffy head, light cloudy amber appearance. Tropical fruit and fresh cut grass on the nose. Nice smooth foamy mouthfeel. Excellent weizen, especially for the price.

Draught at Morocan restaurant in Karlsruhe. Typical looking hefe, cloudy straw/orange color, avg head. Aroma of banana, yeast, wheat, gum, spice. Similar flavor profile. Refreshing and drinkable. This was a good hefeweizen, but not the best. I had it fresh. Good memories, decent beer.

Lovely full head. Easily drunk. I even didn’t mind it as it heated up to room temperature. The flavours really came out. Big on spice and citrus fruit.£1.29/5OOML at Aldi.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2009 The first hefeweizen I tried, and still one of the best I’ve had. Came in a big bottle (500mls), cost $8. Poured amber, creamy white head with quite strong retention. Wheat and slight spice aroma. Taste was mild but still distinctive, slight malt, quite hoppy, some banana, little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. Nice finish, like the taste but dryer. The only thing that bugs me is the price and the huge bottle, was savouring each mouthful and it went flat before I finished! Other then that, excellent.

Bottle served in Franziskaner glass: Lovely fruity fragrance containing banana and it has the classic appearance of a Weiss Bier. The taste is also lovely light classic, but it does not stand out of the crowd. All in all a nice beer, because this is Weiss Bier.

Nice beer, not great but quite nice. Poured with a decent, fine, foamy, white head that never quite disappeared and some lace. Color is a hazy medium amber. Aroma is like standard Bavarian hefe weizen: spice, citrus, grain, malt, fruit, yeast. Flavor is like aroma with a little sweetness coming out through the sip. Body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and has good length. Easy drinking beer. Session.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2010 Pours cloudy orange amber with big fluffy slightly off white head leaving lacing. Aroma of grass, herbal, citric and yeast; very nice. Well carbonated, crispy mouthfeel. Flavor of tropical fruits, cereal, yeast and hops. Acidy tart on palate, different. Finishes acidy tart hoppy and dry. Very nice weizen I must say.
