Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and pour slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

For me, drinking this beer is like a classic STD: I’ve never actually been with it, but I’ve been with others that have. More specially, I’ve had it when it’s mixed with grapefruit juice & sold to me in the Toronto LCBO’s as an alternative to Steigl’s imported Radler. I know this will be frowned upon by ratebeer death cults, but I prefer it in the radler. This tall can speaks of long journeys across the globe (i.e. it has the aroma of cooked root vegetables - which is gross, frankly) & disappointing representation of the style. I’ve had local Canadian brewers -- corporate drone & hipster wannabes alike -- who make a dull rendition of the style (Hopcity I’m calling you out!) that still rises above this mushy, celery scented import. Avoid.

Zapach z butelki: Słodowo-goździkowy. Piana: Biała, powstaje łatwo i dość obficie, ale niezbyt trwała. Kolor: Mętne, miodowo-pomarańczowe. Zapach: Intensywny goździk, wyczuwalny banan, nuty drożdżowe. Smak: Słodko-kwaskowe. Spore nuty metaliczne - potwierdzone testem skórnym. Tekstura: Lekkie, wodniste.

Lekko kwaskowe. Bardzo orzeźwiające.

Tall can from Central City Liquor store in Surrey, B.C. A monster beige head on an apricot colored cloudy beer. Slightly fruity nose. Taste is fruity, yeasty, maybe a trace of hop there somewhere. A very serviceable hefeweizen. 3.4.

Hefeweizen from Germany. The wheat flavor is mild. I prefer stronger wheat flavored. If no wheat beer available, then go for it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A commendable, yet typical Hefe. Fresh aroma with banana, yeast and a slight spiciness. Gorgeous Hefe-appearance with a massive white head and a beautiful hazy orange colour. Taste is fresh, somewhat bitter, yeasty, slight banana, a bit spicy. Medium body, good carbonation and a nice finish. A nice Hefe, if a bit bitter to my tastes when it comes to this genre.

Lunch at Stuttgart airport - asked if they had a Weiss bier: this was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Chilled and in a tall, fluted glass, I’ve had significantly worse at much better pubs elsewhere. Still don’t know what was in the strange sandwich that came with it though. Something meaty, salty and very chewy.
