(bottle, 33cl) Black colour with a dark brown dense medium-sized foamy head. Moderately roasted and mildly woody malty and leafy aroma with notes of chocolate, liquorice and a sweaty/animalistic touch. Moderately roasty bitter flavour with delicately sweet and sour spots, quite full bodied with a soft carbonation. Leafy and roasty malt-character with dark chocolate, woody and spicy notes of liquorice, as well as traces of herbal hops; dry and moderately roasty bitter finish with warming notes of booze shining through. Good. 15.X.12

At a tasting, thanks eyes_wide_shut, small light brown creamy head, opaque black colour, aroma of chocolate cake, vanila, rum, some woodiness and cocoa, flaof dirt and cocoa, dark fruits sourness, some vanila, and a touch of candy. Quite nice and enjoyable.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Neiman’s place. Thanks Neiman. Black with a bit of tan foam. Aroma of roastiness, chocolate, some fruitiness and some oxidation. Sweetish flavor, a bit sourish, with roast, chocolate and fruitiness. Finishes bitter. Medium-bodied. Interesting.

Bottle. An almost black one, with a dense, dark beige head. Roasted aroma with some caramel and licorice, as well as roasted makes and coffee, chocolate too. Sweet flavor with caramel notes. Coffee, roasted malts and chocolate in the flavor. Some hoppy bitterness too. Lasting finish. A tasteful and pleasant one. 140214

[Thanks to kevnic2008]. Black colour with a quickly diminishing light taan head and with a very nice lacework. Aroma has notes of coffee beans, roasted malts, light licorice and burnt bread. Flavor has black coffee and dark chocolate notes, roasted and toasted notes, some wooden notes as well. The final has coffee beans notes with a medium bitterness.

Bottle, the zwergs. Black with brown milkshaky head. Dark berries. Dry chocolate. Full bodied, quite soft, nice. Easily drunk. Feels almost like a regular porter- a bit lighter, not that intensely flavoured, as RISes usually are. Some chocolate, milky even. Nice drinkability, but flavour-wise a bit dull.

Black colour, tan head. Aroma of bread, herbs, hay, fruits and soy sauce. Banana flavour, soy sauce, quite sweet, cola. Quite fizzy. Finish light bitter, soy sauce and coffee. Not my favourite Imp stout, maybe it’s the yeast?
(From 33cL bottle @ weekly tasting, Benzai’s place, Oirschot. Thanks for sharing, Rene!)
