33cl bottle. Pours clear gold with frothy white head. Aroma of spring and apples and banana. Taste is bitter and nicely balanced, light sweetness can be found as well. Side taste of soap. Soft carbonation and quite short aftertaste of salty malts. Very drinkable and interesting, a bit weak and lacks true character. Don’t let the gentleman on the etiquette fool you.

Bottle shared at chriso’s post GBBF minidig 16/08/2014 . Aroma is berry, tea leaves and nutty malts. Dull golden coloured pour, no head. Flavour is composed of nutty, cardboard malts, berry and light pine. Palate is dull and lifeless. Bad beer.

33cl Bottle at Brecht. Slightly hazy golden orange colour, off-white head. Aroma is malty, some caramel, floral, hoppy, light soapy, citrus, orange. Flavour is malty, light caramel, floral, hoppy, citrus, some resin, orange, bittersweet finish. Light-bodied, oily mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle at Cafe Brecht. Pale gold pour with white head. Aroma is a bit strange, tons of lemon grass, really perfumy, herbal citrusy nose, but nothing like a conventional hoppy pale ale, very soapy. Taste is slightly bitter, again tons of lemon grass, light citrusy hop, tons of soap, bitter and yeasty. Palate is light bodied with low carbonation. Average at best, but a bit too strange for words.

Hazy pale yellow colour with soapy head. Aroma seems to be quite malty and Pilsener like. Flavour is mild but light and fresh. Soft maltiness and a subtle hop bite.

Bottled, thanks fonefan! Cloudy golden, firm, rocky head. Minty tangerine aroma. Quite dry with medium body and firm, crisp mouthfeel. Lightly fruity with a wealth of tangerine hops. Mid bitter finish Unlike some German breweries making modern style beers Schönram manages to keep the harmony and malt flavours of the better traditional German breweries. Quality all the way.

Poured a hazy light orange amber with a small off white head. Aroma of muted medium heavy citrus and soft malt. Medium body, flavour is moderately sweet citrus (mandarin), with an increasing moderate bitterness.

Decent, but still a rather average APA. Look to Riegele for a better German take on this style.

Den Mandarina Bavaria Hopfen kann man sowohl im Geruch als auch im Geschmack deutlich finden. Sehr lecker, deutlich bitter, angenehmer Grapefruit-Geschmack.
