0,5l Flasche. Dunkelbraunes Bier mit beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Röstmalzen, schmeckt nach Röstmalzen, Kaffee gepaart mit Grasig schmeckenden Hopfen. Tolle Kombination.

500ml bottle. Dark brown color with one finger off white head. Roasted malt and slight chocolate aroma. Taste is very similar and ending with a little chocolate, a little thin, but nonetheless a solid beer.

Bottle from Robinwood: Poured a dark hazy brown hue that was topped with a firm fluff of foam head. After the head foamed out the glass appeared as a glass of iced tea. The aroma is peculiar with a whiff of chocolate whoppers or chocolate coated pretzels and perhaps wet cardboard as well, but the sugary sweetness of the malts re-assures that this is a dunkel import but am glad it reached Bonita, CA. The flavor is slightly sweet with a lingering bitterness of hard biscuit or multi-grain bread aftertaste. One of the hardest beers to search for in my encounters with Ratebeer.com

0,5l Flasche. Rötlicher Bernstein mit bräunlichem Schaum. Röstmalz Aroma mit frischem Hopfen. Antrunk Kaffee ubd Röstmalz, dann vitterer Radiccio. Im Abgang Waldhonig. Erinnert an ein sehr kräftiges Altbier. Sehr gutes Bier.

Brown color with small tan head. Aroma is coffee, molasses, raisins. Taste is similar, quite rich. A good Dunkel, bitter finish.

My Bottom Line:
Wet newspapers envelop caramelized cereals in this otherwise tight and rich Dunkel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the deep shiny amber.
-This bottle was well oxidized even though it was more than a month before its ’best before’ date. A mistreated bottle, or simply a beer that doesn’t hold up that well?
-A rum coulis is imagined riding the soft bubbling.
-This is my first and only Schönram disappointment. Will try again for sure.

Draught. Pours deep brown with beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, mellases, raisins. In taste sweet at first but that disappears and leaves you with nice herbal bitterness. Very nice dunkel, not sweetish in aftertaste, drinkable, tasty.

500ml bottle. Amber pour wiht an off white head which quickly fizzes away. It is still within it’s "best by date" but only by 2 months. Good dunkel aroma, some spices, dark bread, and fruits. Flavor is dark fruits, hint of coffee, nicely dry, bit of water character. Not bad, fwiw the first time I’ve seen it on the shelf was today.

1 Pt., 0.9 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Reddish brown with a small off white head some lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, bread and maybe even some chocolate notes. Taste is sweet, and very malty, a little bit of roast and caramel. Interesting, enjoyable and drinkable.
