COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A "heavy" light, as with 3.4% alcohol more than most of his kind. A tasty alternative to all beer mix drinks (among brewers as "Bierpanschereien known). Special malts round out the flavor. The malty flavor is reminiscent of a freshly mown lawn. In Antrunk taste it easy Malzsüße, which turns into a pleasant lasting hoppy bitterness. In Nachtrunk very lively. This is a light beer Surtaler with a surprising amount of backbone, which is due to the relatively high original gravity and the use of 15% special malts.

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear pale yellow, mid-sized white head. Malty base, quite light-bodied, resiny-grassy hops tune in very soon. Quite full of character for the low abv, very nice.

Leicht herber Beginn, süffig, es ist keine Form des Alkoholentzugs erkennbar. Spritzig, herb, zum Ende hin wenig bitter. Rund, für ein Leichtbier super! 9/10/12/9/9/9

Recht kräftiger, hopfenwürziger Geruch. Antrunk hopfig. Würzig-aromatische Mitte. Erstaunlich bitterer Ausklang. Wirklich gutes Bier.

500mL bottle purchased at the Davis Food Co-Op. Label is almost identical, except for the "Light Beer" replacing "Leichter Typ". I am not sure if this would qualify for a Low Alcohol or not. Best by 11/11.10. Aroma is crisp, grassy, corny, and very pale lager/pilsener like. Light floral aromatics along with some cereal, too. Transparent, sparkling yellow body with a smallish white head present. Starts a little metallic, before this becomes quite sweet with corn meal and more cereal in the middle. Very lightly tart with some lemon touches. Finishes light and floral and a bit watery. This is pretty refreshing, and not terrible. Just too expensive at $4 to be a viable lawn mower beer.

Bottle: Pale greenish-golden, big stable beaten-egg-white like foam; aromatic hoppy nose, straw and pale malt underneath; light sweet-bitter flavour, light - as expected - bodied; hoppy-stawy finish. Good light beer....

It’s golden with a creamy and lasting white head. The aroma has notes of malt, light straw, paper and flower. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of malt, straw, flower, grass and the finish is refreshing with a light dry, bitterness.

The beer pours pale yellow, the soapy sparkling head disappears very quickly. It smells hoppy-sourish, malty-musty and subtle grainy with some sweet corn. Starts surprisingly hoppy-bitter, pleasantly malty and spicy, subtly sweet with cereal notes in the background. The middle part has lots of pale malts, well-paired with some bitter hops. Goes into a hoppy-bitter, grainy-sweet finish! Surprisingly good for a low-alcohol beer!

Bottle from the Co-Op in Davis, CA. Pours light hazy gold with a foamy white head. I get just the faintest of skunk, but mostly light malt. Not sure about hop. Don’t think so. Lightly grainy. Light grassy bitter. It’s certainly not bad, but I think the process for low alcohol prevents flavor. On the other hand, since this is a pale lager, that might be for the best. I’m just having a problem figuring out why this was supposed to be a good idea. And minutes into it, I’m still thinking a very light touch of burnt rubber/skunk. Seems unlikely with a dark brown bottle though. The level of bitter is the saving grace.

Clear golden colour. Small white head. Weak malt flavour. Slightly rough bitterness. Tolerable.
