COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The 3-Grid IPA is our flagship ale. This India Pale Ale’s citrus notes are created by Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Amarillo hops from Yakima Valley, making it a true Northwest-style crowd pleaser. The alchemists at Schooner EXACT balance the hoppiness with a hint of malt, making this IPA one that pleases the staunchest of hopheads as well as the microbrew newbie.

Low aroma. A bit thin but not to the point that the 6.7abv is alcoholic. Lemon citrus I in the finish. Dry finish that leaves a strong hop on the back end.. Despite being a bit thin it was enjoyable.

Bottle. Amber malt syrup, pine resin / christmas tree and foot funk / cheese in the aroma. Sweet celery and stew-y blood orange and resin flavor. Bitter, sweet, fizzy, chalky with a sour malt finish. Not my bag, man!

Bomber. Orange amber colored with an inch of white foam. Floral hops, pine and citrus peel in the aroma. The flavor blends orange, grapefruit, biscuit malt, pine resin and mint. The body is smooth and balanced with medium carbonation and a dry, citrus finish. Good all-around PNW style IPA.

34 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark gold with medium fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus hops. Taste is wall-balanced between the hops and malts, lots of hop flavor, but not too bitter. Really good!

Dogbrick (8023) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 12, 2013
Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, grapefruit and malt. Medium-bodied with a moderately bitter hops character and notes of citrus and sweet malt. The finish is hoppy with a citrus and pine aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - DEC 8, 2012
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear golden-orange colored body with a finger-width, frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is citrusy florals and pines with a bit of a sweet resin and a touch of caramel malt backing. Flavor is similar. Somewhat juicy citrus pines and florals with some resins and a lightly sweetened caramel malt backing. Finishes dry and moderately bitter with a good amount of citruses. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent enough IPA that is well hopped with a light caramel note. Nothing special, but enjoyable.

Bomber. Grapefruit and mild pine. Caramel in the background. Light bitterness throughout. Bland in the middle and missing a good IPA finish.
