COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The 3-Grid IPA is our flagship ale. This India Pale Ale’s citrus notes are created by Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Amarillo hops from Yakima Valley, making it a true Northwest-style crowd pleaser. The alchemists at Schooner EXACT balance the hoppiness with a hint of malt, making this IPA one that pleases the staunchest of hopheads as well as the microbrew newbie.

Cask version at WABL Fathers Day BrewFest 2008. Pours lightly hazy bright copper with a lacy white head. Tropical fruit, grapefruit and toffee nose. Sweet toffee and grapefruit taste. Nicely bitter resinous finish that seems to dragging a little butter residue along with it.

Draft at Uber. Light burnished copper. Slightly hazy. Light creamy off-white head. Decent sheets of lace. Big buttery nose. Creamy medium body. Butter piney mango mid-palate. Resiny finish. Too bad. This beer could have been something, and I am definitely giving it potential points across the board for when he gets the DMS under control. But right now it should come with popcorn.

Draught at Brouwer’s Café: Amber, lively carbonation, large finely bubbled head, very nice lacing.   This beer looks great!   Citrus rind aroma that translates directly on the tongue.   Also fairly earthy.   A little astringent, but certainly more flavorful than many that I have tried lately.   Moderate malts, enough to carry this one through nut it could stand to be a bit heavier and sweeter.   Then you’d have something.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Lingering earthiness.   Decent, but wished it were a bit more floral and certainly a bit sweeter to counter act the astringency.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2012 Hazy amber with a thin head. Herbal, woody c-hop action on the nose with maybe some amarillo as well. A little bit watery but burly woody bitterness. Decent IPA.

A golden yellow color with a deep hoppy aroma. Loved the flavors of this beer as it was high in hops and great in flavor. The finish was bitter but also wanting more . A good use of malts and a great addition of hops at the end of the brewing. A great Beer.
