Deep blond color. Light grassy hop aroma, straws. Lean body, some malt flavor, some straws, light chamomile; strong bitterness. Decent, but not special.

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out loads of piney hops, floral notes, and just enough biscuity malt. Flavour is very floral and piney, with almost a soapy palate. Fairly restrained for a IIPA. Both the flavour and intensity seem like this is a 5% session ale. Highly drinkable, but leaves a bit to be desired.

Had on draft at their taproom. Coconut taste to an IPA? Like. Good unique flavor. Orange clear pour.

Tap @ Bailey’s Taproom... Poured golden deep orange with a moderate head. Nose had danky, citrus and pungent hops. Tasted of tropical and citrus fruits. A hint of alcohol with some evident malt for balance. Nice drinking, clean beer. Hops shined here with so much flavors. Mosaic? Yes please!

Draft. Cloud amber body with a frothy white head. Aroma of pine, resin, caramel, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, soft carbonation. Above-average sweetness for a double IPA, caramel on top of pine and flowers. Muddled.

Hazy dark amber in color, thin tan head. Super big hops aroma and flavor. This was a very tasty 2xIPA. Good job Schooner.

Nose of caramel biscuit toast pine and soft citrus. Pours orange amber thin white head. Flavors of more caramel and biscuit toasty dry malt notes piney resin medium bitterness a little citrus. Heavy handed malt notes with some balancing pine. Not bad. Not really my style of iipa.

19Ei8hty (1167) - Washington, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Solid malt body characterized by light caramel sweetness and some crystal malt. A bit chewy with hearty carbonation. Huge, dense pillowy head. Strong notes of whiskey barrel and charred wood. Some musty components and light leafy hop qualities. Interesting and a bit strange.

Draft at uber. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with golden brown edges. Lots of nucleation columns. Dense creamy flat white disc on top. Loose sheeting white lace. Fresh piney nose, also showing a bit of mustiness and maybe a bit of butter...but way in the background. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Caramel and pine on the mid palate. Shows flashes of freshness and dimension in the hop profile, some nice bright oiliness there, but on a fast quaff it can get a bit muddled and nondescript.
