COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our winter seasonal is available from mid October to February. Hoppy Holidays is the beer that started it all. Matt used to brew with winter ale on his stovetop at Christmas time for friends and family. Deep, rich, and flavorful; this ale will keep you warm on cold winter nights. Chocolate malt and aggressive hop additions provide a unique character that will linger.

Draught. Pours a mostly clear dark brown color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose is slightly toasty, though I get relatively little smell of this. Taste is slightly sweet and just a bit bready, with a hint of some toast. OK.

Bomber pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head that leaves light lacing. Smells of chocolate, pine, nuts and toffee. Tasted of all the same things with a good hop bite. Mouthfeel is thin and oily with light carbonation and a dry finish. Nice and hoppy for a winter seasonal almost black ipa territory. Liking the beer from this newer brewery the know what they’re doing when it comes to hops.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a dark reddish-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of sweet malt, caramel and earthy hops. The finish is malty up front with a hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours clear darkly copper/brown with a very slight beige head. Aroma of dark roasty malt with hints of chocolate and something suggesting hop. Near full bodied. Flavor is roasty, a little nutty, has some chocolate, and there’s some bitter which could be hop. The malt flavor is pretty dominant, so it’s hard to pick out a hop type. Still, this stuff isn’t all that sugary, and there’s bitter in the finish. Pretty drinkable stuff.

Hanuta06 (347) - Washington, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Serving: from bottle--purchased at Total Wine & More. Aroma: moderately roasted, caramel malt. Appearance: small, frothy, light-brown, initial head with fully diminishing longevity and very good lacing. Dark-brown/black, cola-colored body. Taste: moderately sweet initial taste and lightly bitter finish with nutty, roasted malt aftertaste. Long duration. Palate: full-bodied with dry texture and lively carbonation. Overall: very good. The sweet initial flavor offset the lightly bitter finish very well.
