On tap at Brouwer’s Seattle. Pours out a hazy amber topped with a cream head. Aroma of rich malt and plenty of hops. Tast was of wood and thick hops. This one was very good.

Shared bomber, poured to snifters showing a clarified mahogany color, with a modest layer of off white foam that reduced to a persistent ring, and wavy cling to the lacing. The aroma was grape, light spice, with vanilla, and a note similar to toasted marshmallow, that lightly smoothed the tartness of the fruit. The taste was similar, medium+ bodied, with some dryness, bourbony alcohol presence, but a little less impressive than the nose. Tasty, nonetheless.

Draft at Brouwers. Very rustic-woody nose. incredibly robust, deep body with huge creamy head. mouth is very smooth like nitro. huge wood bourbon notes. a tad sourish and metallic but very interesting.

Cloudy fizzy dark ruby mahogany brown red color. Rich aromatic bourbon hop mild oak front. Creamy medium textured mild sweet rich malty toffee hink dark caramel body. Light roasted toasted notes. Creamy mild hop spice rich bourbon somewhat hot smooth end. Not too fond of Bourbon notes in Beer, but this was well made & not too overpowering. Sampled 3/26/2011. Hazy tanned amber body. Chewy bread malt backbone with slight ripe fruit notes. Wood barrel laden presence throughout the drink. Slight vegetative, soapy hop character.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2011 Very dark broWn pour, off white head. Aroma of baking pastry, burnt sugar, wood. More doughy toasty pastry on the flavor, vanilla, burnt sugar, bourbon, finishes very woody and dry. I really like the sharp wood balancing the nice sweet malts in this.

Nocturne (764) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2013
On tap at APEX, PDX. This is a dark, hazy brownish red shade. A ring of head lurks at the edges. Aroma features bourbon and cocoa. Taste brings up bourbon, wet hops, cherry, chocolate and a slight umami, meaty character. Maybe even a hint of sourness. Lots going on, but drinkability isn’t the highest. Intriguing stuff.
