3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a medium khaki head that diminishes slowly to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Light-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, roasted nuts and a bit of hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark chestnut brown hue, with a slim, but resilient browned silken head. A pretty balanced, nutty brown ale that is more British than American as the malt profile is the centerpiece, with muted hops just providing the support. Nice hazelnut and easy roasted aroma that follows through similarly on the palate. Just a good solid, nutty brown ale.

On draft. A mid-range brown ale. Decent, but lacking any distinguishing qualities. Underwhelming.

Bottle:   Deep brown, thin to moderate off-white head, little lacing.   Cocoa start, sweetened coffee, lots of creamer, seems a bit dry.   Maltly start, cocoa, sweet roasted malts, lots of sugar and cream in this one.   Not a hoppy example, but not overly malty either.   Decent balance, smooth, sweet, not overly roasted either.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with lots of cocoa, a bit nutty too.   Enjoyable!

Bottle... Poured deep brown with a moderate khaki head. Typical of style. Not bitter or crazy but just a nice nutty, toasted malt presence with a standard yeast presence for the style. Earthy, mildly dry, not too much for hops going on.

Bomber from LetsPour.com. Pours dark brown with a slight creamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate over some moderately roasted malt. Med body. Flavor is nutty and chocolaty with that standard "brown" malt flavor. It finishes dry and rather bitter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler from Chuck’s. Tasty if mellow brown ale. I suppose it’s not supposed to be too sweet but there seems to be something missing. Interestingly nutty. Slight tang in the finish, like a Guinness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Warm brown colour in draught. Sweet and nutty with a bit of pecan? in the aroma. Again, would make a good session beer if served in small enough glasses. Good for washing down spices.
