Serving: from tap at Schooner Exact Tap Room. Aroma: none detected. Appearance: small, creamy light brown, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Cola-brown body. Taste: moderately roasty/smoky, coffee-like initial flavor and finish. Average duration. Palate: medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Overall: excellent porter. Outstanding flavor. Can’t wait to drink this again.

Draught at Hathor. In my series "a porter is a porter", this one qualifies with the typical flavor profile. Nothing too exciting but well executed.

On tap at Schooner Exact, pours a dark mahogany / brown with a small tan head. Aroma reveals notes of chocolate and toasted nuts. Flavour is dry and fruity, with red fruits and light cocoa. Leaves a little something to be desired - a little too much fruitiness for a porter for me. Still, decent.

Draft - Dark roasty notes with a hint of burnt toast. Deep jet brown with a rich light brown head. Roasty malts, Berry notes and a light burnt taste. Decent.

22oz bottle pours dark brown, almost black, with a quickly thinning but long lasting cream head that looks like a nitro. Aroma is of biscuit, toasty malt, chocolate. Flavor is similar but also bitter, watery coffee. Mouthfeel is thin and light, active, watery. Overall somewhat underwhelming... it was great until I actually put it in my mouth.

Draft at Uber, Seattle. Dark, creamy brown, lacing foam. Mild body, a little under, cola and rosehip. Chocolatey, roasty coffee and tootsie roll. Nice enough

Thin brown head atop a deep brown body. Nose of coffee grounds, ash. Fairly raw flavour with cigarette butts, coffee, and a lasting bitterness through the finish. I find this rather tonic on the palate.

Overall... entirely forgettable. To start out there was little aroma, even after pouring and letting it sit for a minute the aroma was faint and unremarkable. The color was a thin medium brown reminiscent of strong tea. It tasted alright (i.e. nothing especially objectionable) but there is nothing special here. The palate was as thin and watery as the color. I expect a porter to have a little bite and good mouth feel, this had neither. It was almost like a porter made by someone that had never tasted a good one. I will not be wasting my money on this one again.

Draft at SB. Pours a murky near-black with a light creamy tan head. Big sweet nose, very milk chocolatey. Toasty malts around the background. Creamy thick body, soft carb. Chocolatey, softly toasty mid palate. Finishes a bit drier than expected, but all very coherent.

On tap at Baileys. Pours a pure black color with a medium tan head. A big sweet chocolate nose. The flavor is dry chocolate, roast, vanilla, ash. Good.
