(Growler) Courtesy of aspidites. Clear, amber golden with a dense, off-white head leaving laces. Discreet, citrusy aroma. Medium body, a bit low in carbonation, with a discreet malt sweetness. Dry and fairly hoppy finish. This needs a bit of sophistication to be truly great. 290307

On tap @ Hopyard poured a clear gold with a small diminishing ivory head. Aromas of carmel, citrus and light pine. Palate was light bodied and dry. Flavors of sweet carmel, orange and a hint of lemon with a crisp bitter finish.

Sampled from a bottle in Nov. 2006: Pours a slightly hazy golden bronze with a thin covering of wispy white head. Has a fresh piny hoppy aroma with semi-sweet caramel malty notes. Body starts with pale malty sweetness, some citric orange fruity notes and balance of flavoring hops. A nice IPA.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 bb (5888) - Alamo, California, USA - MAR 17, 2005
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2010 Draft. Medium golden beer with little head. Fruity hop aroma. Citrus and pine resin flavors with some grassiness and malt backing. It’s not going to displease IPA drinkers, but it doesn’t stand out.
Batches can be a bit variable, but bumped it a little as later batches are tasting much better.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ibrew2or3 (5777) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 6, 2007
On tap at the Schooner’s Brewery/Restaurant in Antioch. It pours a clear gold with white ring of foam. There is a nice grapefruit citrus hop note that comes right at you out of the glass. It’s not only grapefruit but also a “sweeter” aroma of ripe orange wedges. The thick mouth feel for an IPA ushers in both sweet grapefruit and orange citrus hop flavors that slowly give way to more and more hop bitterness. The increasing bitterness may be due to the mild malt sweetness subsiding into oblivion. Nice offering.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Bottle: Copper caramel color, light white head and tons of sticky lacing. The nose is bright and grassy, some wood (pine) and grapefruit; earthy hops along with the lovely pale malts. The flavor is cobbwebby and sticky, nice wood and caramel. California style for sure with that bright robust dry hop in the nose and sweet simple body. Very sticky long tail with a candy note at the end. Excellent.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 riversideAK (5413) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - APR 1, 2008
Courtesy of aspidites. This rating probably does not do this justice, but I will probably never have this again and I really enjoyed it. Orange golden. Extremely floral IPA with hints of grapefruit, oranges, etc. Nice big bitterness leaves room for some light bready/pale malts. Lingering floral hoppiness. Under rated.
