On tap for the RBSG 009, this dark brown pour with a tan head, was pretty good. some fruity flavors, tanginess and other complexities make this an interesting beer.

Draft. A black beer with a red shine under a brown head. The aroma is sweet and acidic with notes of berries. The flavor is sweet malty combined with an acidic note of berries.

On tap at The Bistro in Hayward. Color was a dark, reddish brown with a light brown head. Aroma of vinegar, easter egg coloring, fruit, brown sugar, and light cocoa. Flavor of vinegard, fruit, brown sugar, alcohol. Better than expected, but I am not sure it is a stout.

Tap: Dark, dark brown with a fuzzy brown head. It has a tart cherry aroma with a tangy cherry flavor, In fact, you mainly taste fruit. It has an old fashioned cherry pie aftertaste and a little too much tang because it kind of burns your throat about half way through. But still, a very tasty and drinkable brew.

On tap @ Bistro BA Fest poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of sour cherry, toffee, chocolate and light vanilla. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a tart finish. Flavors of sour cherry, chocolate, carmel, light smoke and light vanilla with a crisp lingering tart finish.

(draught - ’08 Barrel-Aged Fest @ the Bistro, Hayward, CA) Very dark w/ frothy tan head. Sour cherry, funk, wood and bittersweet chocolate nose. Surprisingly medium body w/ astringent fruity sourness followed by smokey, dark roasted coffee. Nice alcohol warmth throughout. Lingering sour funk and toasted malt, dry finish.
