BeerVirgin72 (621), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 17, 2008 Bottle shared at the Cleveland tasting by me, courtesy of Aspidites! Thanks Mike! This was a VERY unique beer and I am so glad I got to try it. An interesting stout indeed. Dark brown pour with some ruby highlights. Smelled like coffee and chocolate covered cherries. The taste was wild from the start, this was a sweeter stout then I was expecting, with the cherry flavor coming out in the finish. Then it turns a bit sour on the end. Providing a very unique sensation in the mouth. Excellent brew.
ratman197 (2482), Arvada, Colorado, USA Nov 21, 2008 On tap @ Bistro BA Fest poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of sour cherry, toffee, chocolate and light vanilla. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a tart finish. Flavors of sour cherry, chocolate, carmel, light smoke and light vanilla with a crisp lingering tart finish. ZazuH (27), Brentwood, California, USA Nov 21, 2008 (draught - ’08 Barrel-Aged Fest @ the Bistro, Hayward, CA) Very dark w/ frothy tan head. Sour cherry, funk, wood and bittersweet chocolate nose. Surprisingly medium body w/ astringent fruity sourness followed by smokey, dark roasted coffee. Nice alcohol warmth throughout. Lingering sour funk and toasted malt, dry finish. fordest (1857), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Nov 20, 2008 From a keg. Very dark pour with decent head. Lots of dark fruit and chocolate.
