Commercial Description:
Schooner's White Wheat (Witbier) utilizes Belgian yeast, both sweet and bitter orange peel, coriander, and ginger to produce a beer that's pleasantly spiced. The spicey aroma and strong citrus notes combine with the dry finish to produce a beer that is highly drinkable.

Schooners headbrewer Craig brought a growler of this to our most recent tasting. Having him tell us about brewing the beer while drinking it is just so damned cool. The beer poured out a opaque, canary yellow color with a two-finger thick head. A nose of coriander, lemons and orange peel greet the nose. Wheat plays a prominent role in the flavor of this beer with some orange peel and coriander creeping in behind it. Solid, easy drinking wit.

Tasted at the May Northern California Beer Tasting. This wit poured a hazy fizzy yellow color from the bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is yeasty, fruity, lemony and spicy. A light to medium bodied wit. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are spicy. A nice crisp and clean wit. Lots of lemon peel and coriander. Crisp and clean. A nice light and refreshing beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

Pours hazy yellow. Funky nose and complex, citrus, clove, and again, funk. (My way of saying I can’t quite put my finger on the taste!)

On tap @ Schooners poured a cloudy yellow with a small lasting white head. Aromas of wheat, coriander and light orange. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of wheat, orange and coriander with a smooth lightly smooth finish.

White pepper amd clove nose with a touch of lemon zest and spring fresh grass. Soft yet full and round mouthfeel that lead to a very refreshing and clean finish. A Wit by any other name......
