3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
20cl @ Hopfenreich, Berlin.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle, Meisterstück, Berlin, 16 July 2015) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with orange, crystal malt and citrus. Malty, fruity taste with notes of citrus, orange peel, Seville orange, a touch of caramel, resin and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced IPA. Nice one.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thx to Theydon_Bois I think. Sorry if I am wrong. Sampled bottled @ Borefts 2015. Day 1. 330 ml. bottle. Deep amber, big white head. Nose is oily pine resin, oily mandarin hops, nicely hoppy. Taste is a big sweetish, touch wood, oily pine resin, caramel, light grass, a touch too sweet but quite nice overall, touch boozy. Creamy, bit yeasty body. Quite pleasant, nice surprise.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Bierothek in Bamberg. It had a different look though, long neck 33 cl bottle and different sticker. At first it had an odd hop aroma, almost plastic. But it faded after a while and left a grassy herbal hop aroma with an orange touch. Sweet and fruity taste, hoppy with grass, herbal and some citrus.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Maker: Schoppe Bräu (brewed at Brauhaus Südstern), Berlin, Germany ***
Beer: XPA X-berg Pale Ale (bottled, unfiltered, 330ml) ***
Style: IPA/Imperial IPA **
ALC.VOL.: 7% (not 6.2% as credited) ***
"Brewed in the IPA style. Lots and lots of hops, both bitter and aroma varieties. Cold-hopped." [brewery note, my translation] ***
Colour: Deep orange, slightly hazy, medium head. ***
Nose: Weak(!) aroma of faint mixed fruits, faint soap. Some grain. ***
Texture: Full body, oily. Medium carbonation. ***
Taste: Some sweetish red fruit and pinewood at first, herbs, bitter hops, medicinal notes (alcohol). More bitter in the middle, with floral hoppy and faint fruit notes. A bit of resin now, too. More resinous in the finish, moderate bitterness. Aftertaste of hoppy bitterness with malts. Faint alcohol. ***
Impressions: Unusual Imperial IPA: the herbs, pine and floral notes overshadow the fruit. Amiable bitterness in the finish, interesting hop notes at the outset. Fairly complex brew, though certainly not sessionable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle split at BBF 7, Bodegraven, 25/09/15 from an IPA with Don.
Very lightly hazed golden orange with a big old off white head.
Nose is straw, bitter orange notes, bready, citric peel, light hop trace.
Taste comprises straw, toasted malt, orange pith, melon.
Medium bodied, prickly and overcooked on the carbonation stakes, semi drying close with a modicum of hop bitterness.
No total shit shoot but pretty pedestrian for the style .... file under whelming.
