Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Pours out in a hazy amber colour, no head to mention. Big and dense malty sweet aroma of alcohol, pepper, oranges, apricots and dough. Full-bodied with dense malty flavours of canned oranges, mandarin, over-riped apricots, dough and peppery alcohol. Long malty finish of pepper, mandarin, dough and yellow plums. At 16% ABV, this was surprisingly tasty..

Oct 6, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Pours a hazy and opaque orangey golden with no head. Intense aroma of overripe fruit and dessert wine. Extremely thick almost syrupy body with notes of fruit and smoke and a touch of sherry. No real bitterness but a burning alcohol. An interesting sipper. 041008

Oct 4, 2008 Bottle, 16%. Very sweet syrupy aroma. Apricot and other dried fruit. Cloudy orange colour. No head. The flavour is quite sweet and syrupy with dried fruit and a hint of smoke. Very sweet but balanced with a good warming alcohol finish.

The taste is stickey, burning and a lot of alcohol. There are some fruits in the back like lemon and sweets. I think a lot of work has to be done.

I really don’t know why the site refers to it as a dopplebock.
Pours orange with close to no head.
Aroma reminds me of strong apricot, but also of old Parma ham that you eat in the summer and it is very malty.
Taste is very sugary as well, fruity and malty.
The beer is indeed loaded with alcohol, and I was expecting something totally aweful when in fact the beer turned out to be quite suprising.
This is definitely something you want to share with friends or sip on.
Not the best beer, but the score reflects the effort for producing something that is enjoyable and drinkable.

Jul 7, 2008 Swing top bottle, bought at the annual fest on the Market Square in Denekamp. This beer now seems to be imported by Huttenkloas. Brown color, cloudy, no head. Malty aroma with plums and lemon. Sweet, alcoholic flavor with plums, lemon, licorice and caramel. The beer doesn’t look good and is out of balance, but nevertheless and interesting experiment.
