UPDATED: JUN 12, 2008 Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Cloudy pale amber, virtually no head. Fruity vinous aroma. Sweet with pleny of black currant. Alcohol is definitely there, but it’s not overpowering. Dense and vinous, fruity and very malty. Powerful, but still reasonably in balance. Better than it’s weaker brother, the Donnerbock.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - OCT 2, 2009
Muddy amber color, little or no carbonation, no head. The caramel aroma is acceptable, sweet, almost fruity, and just a bit alcoholic. It has an oily mouthfeel, with powerful caramel flavor, very sweet, but only at the edge of being syrupy; the caramel has a nutty side that is pleasant (a mix of hazelnuts and walnuts). The bitterness is not too strong, there is some from the caramel and in the final the alcohol is quite evident; the in the end the nutty touch is even more present. I have mixed feelings: it has not been brewed in a bad way, the result is not disgusting, it’s surely an interesting experience, but it’s also difficult to drink too much or too often.
