1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
UPDATED: JUL 23, 2004 Slightly cloudy amber color with a thick, medium laced white head which is sustainedby a whole lot of carbonation. Spicy and fruity aroma but a bit unpleasant, at first especially. Fruity and malty flavor but mostly unpleasant. Light body, dry and maybe astringent mouthfeel. Definitely not good and not recomended.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Yeasty peach aroma and something funky and not altogether pleasant, partially digested perhaps. Dense off-white head over very clody, murky brown body. Yeasty, tart and puckering a bit, but none of those in a good way. Thin and unappealing. Bottle.

2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Very nice cloudy amber body. Its head lacks thickness but is still almost intact after five minutes. As you pour it, the beer exhales a strong floral and fruity (mainly cherry, but also raspberry, citrus and banana) aroma. Taste is unfortunately disappointing. It is unbalanced and a way too sour (rotten wood). It takes about three sips to get used to it and even then, I tolerate it more than I appreciate it. I really would like to have it on tap because I got the feeling of drinking out of a tart bottle.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Spicy floral nose with hints of candy apples. The body is quite hopped with hints of apples and oranges followed by a dry malty finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pourred a deep amber brew with a huge head with good retention. Carbonation is huge. This seems to be a consistent thing with Schoune. When there beers are well bottled, which is half of the time, the carbonation is great. Over all, this beer is a lighter version of the reb'ale beer from the same brewery (less alcohol, less spice, less body). Does mean it is abad beer, just a lighter beer.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Looking at the color, that beer honors its name, very amber. Huge white head with a tad irregular bubbles, low carbonation. Aroma is so tiny it's not even funny.. If anything, I'd say peaches. In mouth, we notice a not so pleasant bitter and tart mix dominated by big yeast. It didn't leave a good impression on me, doesn't get better as it warms, a little astringent as well.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
(Bottle) Absolutely headless - cloudy, orange, sediment filled body. Near ordorless; slight scent of yeast and perhaps citrus but too faint. More flavourful - though interestingly distinguishable Schoune sourness and fizz. Very yeasty, faint sour cherries, riding a sleigh of acidic fruit. Landing on a rough pillow of bitterness?
