<b>Objectively speaking:</b> Small porter punctuated with dubious sour yeastiness. Weak. <br /> <b>I like:</b> The large and initially healthy tan foam. <br /> <b>I dislike:</b> Obtrusive Schoune sour yeastiness taking the shape of old cherry pits, spoiled red apples, metallic bitterness. Thin-bodied. Limited roast character.

A deep dark beer with a thin moka head. A sweet butterscotch and chocolate aroma. In mouth, rather thin with light chocolate and lactic notes. On tap at Oktoberfest des Québécois, Mascouche, Sept. 8 2007.

<b>Bottle &#40;341ml&#41;</b>. <i>Via trade with Viper666</i>. Opaque deep ruby, with a large fizzy-frothy beige head. Dry aroma, it wants to be sweet, sort of like sour licorice, I get peat, molasses, baker’s chocolate, herbal dry hops. The taste is oily, bitter, malty, deep roast - nice bitter finish. Slick, thin, still mouthfeel and a quick bitter finish. You know, I sorta liked this!

Bottle from Métro Joannette. Dark brown with a medium mocha head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt and sweet chocolate, with a bit or licorice and a sour edge. Light mouthfeel. Flavour is simple but not bad - roasty and fairly sweet off the top, with a mild coffee note, and a moderately bitter finish. The body is too thin and the flavour is too subdued to be a really good porter, but it’s still a half-decent one, and a pleasant surprise from Schoune.

En fût. Verre de 4 oz dégustée au Saint-Bock &#40;Montréal, QC&#41;. Arôme: Odeur de chocolat et de mélasse avec une pointe fruitée. Apparence: La couleur est noire avec des reflets bourgognes. Présence d’un mince col beige mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de café avec une pointe de cassonade. Courte durée de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est mince avec une texture légèrement minérale. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de cacao en arrière goût. &#40;Rating #1438&#41;
