Mondial de la Bière de Montréal; Fruity aroma, orange color, fruity taste, sour sour taste...taste is just like sour bubblegum...not bad since its my first gueuze.

341mL bottle. Pours a dull, slightly hazy, peachy-orange color; very small off-white head. Overripe fruits, fruit cocktail, and citrus in the aroma; honey with some sticky sweetness; very overripe. Awful, awful tart citrus and sticky sweetness; simply terrible and undrinkable. Ten kinds of awful. Must keep typing. Must not swallow.

Bottle shared by Derek. Orangey colour with some harvesting of a bubby white partial cover. The aroma is geuzy and interesting, not quite sour nor malty. A little lace. The taste is sour, but there is balance with the malt. Well cellared and so the Day of Balance by Derek?

12 oz bottle, via goldorak. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber body under a thin fizzy beige head that retained as a sickly looking film. Almost no visible carbonation. The aroma is quite odd. Like a vegetal and lightly vinegary American Wheat with some vanilla, toasted malt, orange citrus, and simple sugar. No funk at all. Oi! Comes across as more of an unintentionally infected Dunkle Weiss more than a Gueuze. A light tartness and vinegar note throughout, but none of the cellar or barnyard funk that ought to accompany it. A refined sugar flavor appears mid swallow then fades in the rotting vegetable laced finish with an odd caramel sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with lots of sticky risidual sugars and moderate fizzy carbonation. A little acetic vinegar on the finish. No funk, no oak, no brett, therefor no Gueuze. I feel bad for those who may not know what they’re getting when the purchase this, or those who might have this as their first experience with Gueuze. At least I knew what I was getting.

On Tap at the Mondiale ’07 Well this is crap. Smells and tastes like a sour belgian blonde ale. There are not grassy musty notes to speak of. Its kinda sweet, and cloying. This brewery is known for infected beer, and well i think this was. just bad.
