1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - JAN 21, 2011
Bottle. Pours a brown dirty water type of color with a small white head. Aroma is of vinegar, caramel , toffee and some breadiness. It smells like the 1608 just with vinegar and bready notes. The flavor is slightly sour, not sour in the way of lambics or flanders browns but in the way of infected beer. On top of that you get the caramel and toffee and some breadiness. The body is medium with a slightly dry mouthfeel. Overall a really bad brew, how the hell did this ever win a bronze medal at the Chicago Beer Cup. I hope this was an infected bottle and that the real brew isn’t this bad!
0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 DeanF (1537) - Iqaluit, Nunavut, CANADA - JAN 12, 2011
Foggy brown-amber body with almost no head. Just like all their other beers! Aroma of sewage and wet farts, like when the garburateur acts up and belches up some bad stench of some rotten cabbage you had for dinner last week. Flavour is a mix of grass and malt, something like wild rice that has been roasted and then thrown in your backyard to ferment while it’s raining. Where the hell’s the rousse? I’m no big rousse fan but this is really bad stuff by any measure... and according to the label it won a gold medal in Chicago in 1998! Ha!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jesperhammer (2202) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 17, 2010
17-SEP-2010, bottle @home, present from Cecilie.
Had this (same batch) about a year or maybe two ago.
At that time so horrible I did not bother to rate it. Now let me try again...
...Cloudy light amber with lasting white head. Good looking:)
Nose is slightly sour with charamel. Last time the sourness seemed like a flaw. but this time it comes out as a fine sour ale. Not overly sour just wine-like.
I quite like it. A year or two in the cellar and it is a fine brew.
Thank you, Cecilie:)
