A brown blonde ale which is confusing. The body is medium and has a strange mix of nutmeg and snuff which after half a bottle is more than enough.

Aroma of grape soda. Clear golden colour with thin white fully diminishing head. Stale cardboard-like flavour and very grainy. Fairly thin body. Oxidized but at least not infected.

Pourred a hazy yellow brew with a huge head. The beer almost exploded when I opened it but calm down once pourred into my glass. Good mixed of spices with great carbonation. By reading the comments below, it sems this beer might be a bit underrated, or again, I might have been lucky and got a non-infected bottle from this non-consistent brewery.

Mine didn't explode at all ! And I actually think it was a really good beer. It has a golden colour and a very thick head. Yeasty aroma and fruity and yeasty taste. The brewer may have some bottle problems, but with a score of 2.5 (after 8 raters) I think the beer is underated.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2003 Like Radek, the beer basically exploded when opened. After saving the carpet, I was pretty happy it was not the Chimay Red. Very ordinary beer, well spiced if anything.
